I don't know if all camaro seats are low or just that once, so I'll ask here.
I've been wondering about this too. Long legs but short torso. Hope I can see over the hood! Seriously, it stinks.

Can't wait to hear the answer to ZeeTwentyFour's question.

I have been in a cloth mustang for a long time so it still felt amazing for the Camaro. So to be honest, i think if i sat in a LS first, i wouldnt have been AS wowed as i was when i first sat in the 2SS.
But i think once you guys sit in a Camaro, have everything on, then you will start to see that its amazingly thought out. Maybe
I know how you guys feel though, its your opioion and yu should express it
But after playing with a functional 2SS, then jumping into the 05 Mustang afterwards, whihc i know haas gotten alot of bad vibe for being plasticy and cheap, the Camaro felt better, but it was also a 2SS.
So basdically i think you guys will have to sit in equally equipped vehicles and prices in order to really know what you want

Both were 2Lt's one normal LT with stick and the other was 2LT with RS/Stick
non rs was a EX car. the silver had a normal vin

I can't wait to sit in it and see how it looks with that hood. I helped my friend restore his 68 camaro all through highschool and man did I love that hood when sitting in the car, really made you feel you were in a muscle car.

The passenger seat is power on the recline only. The seat forward action is the same as most.

The visor is so small there is no room for a usable mirror.

The loom for the wire is nothing to loose sleep about and how often are you in motion with the trunk open.

I did notice one thing that was unconventional. As a passenger the reach for the inside door handle is a long way for ward. You must lean forward to reach it. This was due to the one piece panel for the ABL. Some people may not like the smaller handle and it is harder to locate. ABL at night will help you find it.

1970 1/2 Camaro RS
1970 Chevelle SS
1972 Chevelle SS
1983/84 Camaro Z-28 305-ho LOL!!

After those years I felt the Camaro's got bloated and sticker graphic busy. However some of the motors ran like raped apes...

Fast forward to the past 2 yrs. I wanted a muscle car. To me there are only 2 to choose from, the Chally and the Camaro. The Mustang just felt like a tin box when I drove it. Still being a Chevy blue guy all my life I could not bring myself to buy a Chally when the Camaro was coming out a year later.

So I waited.......Pre-order program started and I ordered just like the rest of us. We went by pictures and looking at the car from a distance at the shows.

Until today I only had 2 gripes with the Camaro, and gripes from pictures.

1-Gas filler on the wrong side of the car.
2-Black wire loom in the trunk.

TODAY was the BIG day!! I left the wife and kids at home so I can have peace and quiet so I can soak up all the Camaro juices...Sitting in the car brought back the good old days. There are TONS of positives about the car that we all know and agree on but there are some things that SCREAM "CHEAP" about the Interior.

Remember, I bleed Chevy blue and I will call a spade a spade. I thank the God above for my family, health and good fortune thoughout my life. I'm blessed and done well. I know the value of a buck and if I wanted a vette I would have bought one. To me 38K is alot of money. Don't tell me, "oh hey the car is cheap, its only 38K".

Today, after I sat in the car at the Ft.Lauderdale show I have 3 more gripes.

1-The ip is hard plastic, not like the cushion dash like most other cars today like the Malibou.

2-What were they thinking......If you are sitting in the passenger seat and want to let the person in the back seat out, its a 2 step operation. Even the colbalt has a 1 step slide. Make matters worse, the passenger seat is half power, only power is recline. Don't tell me the back seat is only for show, if its only show why put it there? It has a back seat and I want to use it otherwise I'd buy a Vette.

3-No light for vanity mirrors.

This car costs 38K, how much did Chevy really save by the above cost cutting measures?
Bean counters say if we save a dime here times 80,000 cars thats alot of profit. but guess what, you can cut costs TOO MUCH and there will be no volume...:(

I will return to the show tomorrow for a second look and sad to say I will spend some time in the SRT-8.

*******

=bobby
Sir, 10 cents x 80,000 cars = $8,000.00 that's not a lot of profit!

Also WTF is a Malibou?

I agree bobby35ny I have a thread on here about a competitor and my main point is for the 38K the interior is a fail for the 22-24K its acceptable. The competitor beats it in all interior accruements and I almost got Crucified... TJ love you man but your a bit obsessed sometimes to be unbiased LOL

I know its power recline only, but if it was going to take 2 steps, at least have the seat power back and forth..

That's not fair; an 2SS starts at 34k, not 38k. You can't say the seats should change from a 27k 2LT to a 34k 2SS- that's not what you're paying the extra for.

What I believe he is stating trm0002 is that for 38K the interior package keeps you wanting. doesnt fit the bill per se

I think there's only one thing really bothers me on the interior. I would really like to see chrome or maybe aluminum in place of some of the silver plastic, especially around the gauge cluster.

I do think the uplevel trims could use a little better luxury feel, or the addition of a '3' level trim, that's fairly minor though as I really like the interior overall. I also agree that getting out of the rear seats should be a be improved, not a big problem just something that should be looked into IMO.

You really want to wait for the seats to power back and fourth? I certainly don't.... I see what you're saying about 2 steps but I don't think you have to do both depending on where the front seat is. If people are sitting in the back, chances are the front seat will remain in a position to where you can get in and out just by flipping it down. There's no requirement to move the seat all the way forward each time.

And again, these are some of the smallest complaints possible. Hard plastic dash, no lights on makeup mirrors, and 2 steps to get into the tiny backseat that probably won't get used much for 95% of the owners... if that's all the gripes you've got then I say they've done an outstanding job.
