Did anyone else think the back seat in the chally had even less leg room than the maro?

People have said to me for ever ... "You ask questions others never ask! "

I was asking questions at the CAMARO orientation when no one else had any!

I am picky and have had 21 new GM'S since 72. This car measures up well against the quality of the Honda Accord Coupe.

PS I am so picky it pisses me off when people spell CAMARO with only a capital C

Sure GM has a publicity problem. But my opinion is those that still beleive that are not as "informed" as they could be. GM has gotten better. the malibu is a perfect example of how they've stepped up.

Again, my opinion of the situation.

All they will see is 38000 for a v8 fully loaded Camaro, cheapy looking interior , no nav, etc etc and complain.

ArcAngel is on to something and I sort-off agree with him

You know a bunch of people were wounded by the "4 dollars a gallon saga" and would not even look at a V8 muscle/sports car let alone an American car, other then your average car enthusiast

But back to what I said before it's all about taste, and you average car consumer will go with what appeals to them, this is one the problem that the US automaker has (specifically Chrysler but they are getting their act together) other than the bullshit about the quality of American cars

Really?? Personaly with the inferno orange interior package, I think the camaro interior has alot more vissual excitement than the mustang, especialy at night with the LED backlights. The mustang interior seem to be more luxgury GT oriented, it looks nice but might get boring over time. The camaro interior is more sporty and is more vissualy excited when in 2 tone trim. It hands down have the best seats and steering Wheel when compared to the mustang. I guess it comes down to personal opinons.

Legroom to me was the same, I thought it was wider though. the fold down center arm rest was cool. If I remember right the interior looked like the charger.

Thank you Muscle Master, I think sometimes on this site we get blinded by the love of the Camaro and the desire for it , that we forget to step back and take an objective look. Hey truth411 I actually mis wrote that thread above. It was supposed to say maybe between these two, but not if you add the rest of the competition meaning not just the big 3's sampling.

C'mon ArcAngel, you know it's 70% of a targeted group of people not the American population but I hear what you are saying and agree somewhat.

We are paying for performance and quality not luxury. Okay, the interior was lacking that luxury aspect but that hardly equates to poor quality. The CTS-V is luxury AND performace; look at how much one of those babies cost.

I, for one, realize what I am getting for my money and understand there will be slight disappointments. That is just how it goes.

If you wouldn't mind, check em both again tomorrow or when you go back.

I didn't take a pic of the chally's back seat. But I did the same test, sat in the driver's seat, adjusted it then moved to the back... It wasn't even close.

but the chally's is longer so I was surprised by it.

If you don't mind.

Maybe now is the time for GM to spend some of that bailout money on some good advertising. American Automobile manufacturers still are perceived poorly compared to foreign manufacturers. I think the quality has surpassed the foreign competition since the 80's but that image is hard to overcome. Perception becomes reality, IMO of course.

bigd hit the nail on the head even if the quality has surpassed the competition. Perception has become the REALITY so they need to go above and beyond and they have not, here or in many other occasions

The American public doesn't want to see ads from GM. They see that as a waste of money. Having ads right now will only hurt perception even more.
