Quite the contrary. The new Mustang transmissions hold up extremely well to mods so much so that there is bunch of the 100% stock ford transmissions in the 9's and doing just fine. I'd look it up and show you vids for even more proof but its dinner time.

I am finding it hard to comprehend why there is another "one of these threads" here. This topic has been beat to death literally.....

FYI for those that may not know....

The 6 speed auto has had just about 0 issues. Very solid trans and they perform better than the manual trans cars.

The manual trans equipped cars have had pressure plate, clutch and master cylinder issues that translate to perceived transmission issues. Similar to what Camaro SS owners have had minus the output shaft breaking. It is not a pandemic as some would like it to be because they have had warranty work denied due to their mods.

I have had 0 issues with my MT-82 equipped GT and run the piss out of the car. It shifts better the harder I am on it.

Latest trip at the track:

Naturally aspirated and never had a valve cover off the motor and it has put down 450WHP with bolt-on's.

FAQ:

1. Is the 2011+ Mustang GT quicker than the 2010+ Camaro SS stock?
yes
2. Does the 2011+ Mustang GT respond better to bolt on's than the Camaro SS?
yes
3. Is the 2011+ Mustang GT lighter than the 2010+ Camaro SS?
yes
4. Does the 2011+ Mustang GT handle better than the 2010+ Camaro SS stock?
yes

Does that make the Camaro a bad car? No. It is just handicapped in the performance area due to IRS and weight neither of which are easy to solve for with the platform it is built on.

The above has all been generally accepted by both communities without bias.

That's cool and all but I guess you missed the 4000+ post thread on all ford mustangs and numerous YouTube videos showing how bad the Chinese made manual tranny grinds and locks-out gears with no fix in sight for angry owners.

I have read through all the drivel across multiple sites. It is the same people regurgitating. The % of MT-82 owners with a legitimate issue is no higher than the TR6060 owners guaranteed.

As have I and I beg to differ...if you lived nearby, I would bet a round of drinks you haven't heard the last about the Chinese made transmission and the problems will continue until production of the transmissions is dealt with appropriately. I have no doubt the tranny is a sound design, I question the manufacturing process.

Long term is TBD for sure. Tremec is making a direct bolt-in as a replacement. Still nothing concrete indicating a pandemic issue.

All that said, if I had a do over, I would have bought an A6 car just simply because they are faster, not simply because I have had any issues. The MT-82 is the best manual trans I have owned/driven to date.

Ill start by saying I like both cars and own a blown cobra....

A few weeks ago, I went to our local raceway for, "mustang night." Well I decided to have fun with it and take the maro. I drive two hours away, arrive and pay the nice lady at the gate. She waves me into lane 4 where I pull allllll the way up to a nice gentleman who waves me up to the bleach box. Remind you i literally just got off the freeway... So I pull up and AROUND the box and DIDN'T even clean off the tires. Ding, light turns green and I go for it with traction control on.. I managed to get a super good 2.36 60' time, lmao... Hit a 12.90.....

Moral here is that all the 2011 stangs were running my same mods and with better 60' times were snatching 13.4's all evening...? So the videos and magazines are full of Shit just like motocross action versus dirt rider....all pro this and pro that....

Unfortunately myself and several other camaro5 members were accused of being cheaters and hiding lines for the mysterious bottle that we had in the trunk? Funny thing is none of us had anything more than handheld tuners and longtubes...

You have videos with professional drivers and magazines but unfortunately they have people very confused with what's actually HAPPENING in the real world...sad!

There's a bunch of 100% new stock ford transmissions in the 9's. I wish I could say the same about GM transmissions.

man, don't all you ford lovers have your own forum. I mean really is this your idea of being super cool..... I have seen a bunch of these new 5.0's at the track. a couple really fast ones, but more not so impressive ones. it's not the greatest thing since sliced bread. and your not going to sway all the camaro owners into buying one...get over it

I don't know how this topic changed from the video to transmissions??? But here is my 2 cents. The second reason why I didn't buy the Mustang is the GETRAG transmission!!!!! Most of the big name magazines even wondered why Ford used it. Also why so many companies started making conversions for the Tremec as soon as the 5.0 was released....just saying.....

It's so funny how so many people (primarily now with the 5.0 crowd) buy their cars just to say "HA Mines Faster" The majority of people who purchase these cars don't buy them to race. We just like the style, sounds, power, etc... Get over it and just congratulate the person for having a pony car..... whether it's a Camaro, Mustang, or Challenger.

Side note**** Why to Mustang owners and Fans continue to make one sided comments on this site? Get a life.... And yes it works both ways....they will not find me on their forum sites....

This place wouldnt be as fun if the competition didnt "rear its ugly head" from time to time.

Nobody is trying to change your mind...just expressing their views......we are car guys.......have fun.
