Congrats on your decision and your purchase! I don't think you'll have any regrets!

I was in a similar position to you with similar concerns 1.5 years ago and pulled the trigger on a CTS-V sedan (manual). The longer you have the car the more you appreciate it and the more it grows on you.

As others have suggested, the V and the ZL1 are different animals and have different approaches to high performance. There is no way that you will be able to appreciate the extreme capabilities of either car by driving it on the street. If you've never driven on a track, my suggestion would be to enroll in a high performance driving school (HPDE) in order to experience what the V is capable of - it's nothing short of amazing and you will become a better driver.

Enjoy!!

Best regards,

Elie

My guess - in the first quarter of 2012, you're gonna be dying to get into a ZL1! Just sayin'!

.

Of that list I might have considered a GTR (if price were no object) if Nissan hadn't screwed over their people with the warranty debacle concerning their not-ready-for-the-road launch control, but my heart says ZL1.

My heart said something that sounded like ZL1 before I knew what it was called. I was sure there was a "Z" in there somewhere though.

You left ZR1 off the list. Boy, if I were offered a free ZL1 or a free ZR1 I would have some kind of serious internal debate going on.

.

Congrats on your choice. I know you'll enjoy it. Looks really nice.

I'm in Middle TN ... If you are ever up this way, shoot me a PM Break In is rough .... I don't really abide by the fine print .... I open her up quite a bit as well

Maybe so, but either way, I'm happy at this point

Thanks 91Z ... For now, yes, but I normally catch the modding bug. We'll have to see

I'd probably go with a ZL1 over a ZR1, simply because I can't do 2 seaters only with a hatch anymore. I had one for too long in the 370z. I enjoy doing other things in my car than just driving it

That's actually one of the parts I liked the most ... Or the 2" slimmer roof. To each their own, but I must say, they do look better in person than in pictures for some reason!

Congrts on the purchase. A local autoshop in my area (Memphis, TN) the owner can make that V a beast! He has a V sedan and it looks stocker, but is no where near it lol.

I like the V coupe except that rear end I am not to keen on, but it is growing on me slowly.

Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

Thanks Lgn ... If you ever happen upon pics of the shop owners V, I'd love to see them Or I may just have to track it down next time the wife & I make a trip to Tunica!

Yeah, when I first saw the rear end in pictures (and TV), it wasn't too hott looking. It took me about a month to really start to like it, until I saw it in person ... Now I'm in love with it. She's got a big A$$, but I love it LOL

Just remember to put it in park & put the emergency brake on before you start driving it home. Wouldn't want you to wreck.

Personally,I like the CTS-V Sedan, but since you were coming out of a Nissan, why didn't you just get the GT-R?

And the V coupe looks much better in person than in pics.

No problem man! Here is his website for his company Link He should have pictures on there of it along with a little information. Also, check out their facebook page, I believe there are a few more pics there too. The shop owner Josh is an awesome guy. I would definitely hit him up about any mods to your V. He is a GM car wiz!

I've seen the coupe in person once or twice. It definitely looks better in person for sure! Pictures don't do it justice. Haha!

Didn't go for the GTR because it was too much like the 370z IMO. Really wouldn't have been that exciting for me. I wanted an entirely new platform
