Sux about the deer lottery, but glad you will be getting a Heritage grill.

It's reassuring to know the safety features as you described... Glad you were not hurt!

yeah i won that lottery in my wifes car. Not nearly the damage as yours but still a PITA. I've printing your lesson reading it aloud in the drivers seat and putting it in the glove box. Hopefully that will be as close as it gets to the experience.

LOL @ "deer lottery".

It's funny because you are ok. Glad to hear it, and good write up about the accident.

I hit one with just 2K miles on the camaro. Luckily it was a smaller size doe and i was probably going about 35mph at impact. No airbags for me and the deer skidded about 20ft in front of me and twitched a bit before dying. It was still like 4K in damages i think. Of course i never hit a deer before until then and it was also about 7am or so.

4k of the estimate on mine is purely airbags. The remaining 4k is cosmetics. Thank God for full coverage.

Why bash the deer? Maybe if we didn't cut down all the woods and deer habitat they would not need to venture into "people territory."

Geeezzz.... I'm not a tree hugger or vegetarian or anything, but its not like the deer are standing in wait for a car to drive by so it can get hit or killed....
