How U Doin?

It never will as long as we have the handful of people here that feel the need to "educate" us and set things right. I find it comical myself and at times a bit pathetic, but what are ya gonna do? I'm all for rivalry and competition, but if I wanted to know how Godly the mighty mighty 5.0 is I would visit a Mustang forum. The 5.0 is an impressive car and I know what it's capable of. Hell, we all should by now with the number of people that come here to shove specs, videos and everything else down our throats. Granted there are a handful of Mustang guys (Big Dan, Reef Blue and 28) that seem to be open minded, willing to have friendly debates and appreciate both cars, but there are others that I could do without.
Just my .02......carry on. |

Your argument is a bit skewed, comparing a fully modded and custom tuned car to a factory stock car. Many make the same mistake. What if you add a tune to the GT500? How about a pulley? How about a 2.9l blower? Go ahead and research those results.

+1 not to mention the gt500 can handle a lot more boost than a stock ls3...

Isn't that apples to apples? Just like a GT should be compared to an SS. RT to an SS. |

My mother in laws boy-friend has a 2011 GT 5.0. It feels alot like the 2010 camaro but is faster out of the hole. That said, I did not like the feel of the car driving it around at all. Taking a corner hard and hitting rough roads felt VERY loose in the stang. THe camaro feels much more solid to me likely because of the added weight. The Stang also seemed to need alot more RPMs to get the same kick in the pants. Guess thats what is needed when your lacking on Cubes.
That said, the mustang guys say they need to compare apples to apples but when you put the same gears in the rear end of a camaro they start saying its no fair. Comparing a camaro SS to a GT500, what the hell. I guess apples to apples went out the door. THe performance model from ford compared to the standard SS from chevy....... If you want to do that lets just throw the SC vette in there and see how the stang does against it as this would be a much more accurate comparision as both are SC, both are similiar weight. The comment about put a whipple on a 5.0 and see what happens, put a whipple on an LS3 and see what happens. Take the blinders off boys, you can make alot of power with both of them, the stang is not magical by any means. In the end, I fall back to my main point, I have yet to drive by a stang from the past 10 years and thing DAMN!!!! Even the shelby cobras do not do alot for me and again, looking at the sales numbers, its becoming a popular opinion.

![]() Dude your all over the place with your argument.. Anyways, IMHO there is not one person here that has their first choice hot rod already on their driveway that wouldn't take the other brand to accompany it.. just my .02.. I'm dying to get my white with orange striped SS next to my 5.0.. Maybe it's just me..

I wanted a C6 Z06, but it was out of my price range. If money were no option I'd have my SS, GT500, 392 SRT and the '12 ZR1.

I feel the same way about GM NOT using forged pistons in the LSA which is a much bigger hurdle then stock tires that just about everyone including yourself have changed. Every SVT owner or anybody with power I know or see no longer roll on factory rubber and I bet in a few years the same can be said about SS owners. 90% cars made today come with inadequate tires which can hurt performance so why get all hung up on it when changing tires is inevitable, unlike pistons.

Pressure plate bolts back out resulting in difficult shifting. Owner decides it is OK to continue shifting the piss out of the car. This damages the syncros in the trans. Peddle stays on the floor during high rpm shifting. This is also a problem with pressure plate bolts, throwout bearing bleeding down and/or a combination of both. Some dealers/owners mistakenly replace the peddle assembly with a GT500 unit or remove the helper spring from the stock assembly. That just masks the problem. Cars past a certain build date are not having these issues. Ford started using thread locker on the pressure plate bolts and all assembly's replaced under warranty the same. One last items was cold shifting notchiness. TSB states for the dealer to replace the QMS fluid with DCT fluid which is a 75w-90 gear oil. When I installed my RAM dual disc clutch I changed the fluid to RP 75w-90 gear oil and it shifts great. Never had an issue before with the stock clutch or trans but proactively changed due to the TSB that was released. Yes I have followed this issue closely across multiple forums and feel I have a very clear understanding on what is happening based on research and my own experience. That isn't to say that there are some owners with legitimate issues with their transmissions however it is not a pandemic like some wish it to be. |

I would definitely own a Super Snake, a FI Z06, the ZL1 when it comes out, the 392 with a wide body kit and a Modena just to be kinky.

![]() I agree 110% about forged internals. You won't have any argument from me on that front. I also agree about most people changing from the stock tires. I was just commenting on the GT500's tires and it's inability to hook due to another post mentioning pulley swap, etc. I've already had to do away with my stock rear 275s. I'm now running 305 555Rs due to lack of traction with the stockers. They are a night and day difference. Maybe one day you and I can meet up at Sac on a Wednesday or Friday. Not necessarily to race, but just to put a face with the name. I'm not a big fan of that track, but options are limited. Lol! |

I am willing to help anyone regardless of what they drive. What I disapprove of is stupidity. 95% of these types of threads here are created by fellow Camaro owners such as this one. It is easy to point the finger at the rest of us non-Camaro owners. Reminds me of the Democrats deposing of all of our reserves and blaming a former president for our economic issues. Bullshit is bullshit no matter how it is sliced. I rarely post here unless it is blatant and am happy to discuss transmission and cylinder #8 issues on the Mustang forums and have done so. I call that bullshit out too along with vendors who try to screw the community. I have no issues with any manufacture owner until that bullshit line is crossed. Challenger, Mustang, Camaro, etc. doesn't matter. ![]() There are plenty of great folks who own all makes of cars and get along just fine with them including Camaro owners. Met a lot of fine folks in this area when I had mine and enjoyed talking and spending time with them. Mustang isn't perfect or God's gift to man. I own more Dodge/Chrysler cars than Ford. I will not accept bullshit however. Take it or leave it. |
