i think chevy should have kept the specs on the ZL1 secret. low balled power and performance in the press. now the GT500 knows what it has to beat mostly, and its can be done with simple tuning and wider tires. IMO ford put a massive rediculous hood on the next GT500/SVT to hid its real inner workings.

Hopefully they are doing some sort of watts link suspension in the rear just like the Griggs GR40 system that turns Mustangs into one of the best performing cars on the track and its an all in one kit sold in a box. That is going to be the only way to plant 550hp on the un-even surfaces of the ring.

Griggs Racing GR-40 suspension systems

Heck I could build a better ring version with a Griggs all in one box kit, carbon brakes, Shelby/ Revan Rad and heat exchanger, and the Torsen diff from the LS rolling on ZR1 rubber.

You can talk about just about anything like. But, this is Camaro5 NOT Camaros vs Mustangs. If thats all you are here to talk about (especially if you're on the Mustang side), and have no interest in the Camaro beyond it being competition, then leave.

When did they reveal the specs? When did they say anything other than 550+ or 556+ hp? And when have they said anything about what sort of times it will run? We've done plenty of speculation on those things but GM has kept fairly quiet.

I think he has more interest in the Camaro then a lot of 5th gen owners here. He knows more about the next Camaro and its future engine and updates the just about anybody here.

I think he posts more info and facts about the Camaro then he does his own Mustang. He's not here to beat on his own chest but to contribute to this great automotive forum and auto enthusiasts who are always looking to the horizon to see what's in store for us next year.

What did you do to earn your latest 10 day suspension?

All I've seen new out of them since the challenger was entered was upgrade to a 392, although a nice addition in power and torque. That car is still too heavy to keep up with the GT and SS. What's Dodge's answer to the ZL1 and GT500? Thats my question, I'm seriously doubting a V10 challenger... But I heard of an SRT10 that once surface the net and then was sunk back in the water. Any ideas?
Dodge is bring back the viper which will most likely put them back to ruling the streets like they did before they quit building it.

Fixed it for you. The guy even signed up on GM inside news to post up about the new Cobra.

But I digress. I think GM has been very tight lipped about what the ZL1 will be packing when it hits the streets. After hearing what Al Opp had to say at Oshawa, GM needs to beat the current GT500 and the future car as well. They are aiming high and aren't bashful on why this car has come to market. IMO the ZL1 MUST be faster than the GT500 across the board. Either way it's good news for GM and ford fans. These cars are going to be insane.

I never talk about my car, it is nobodies business but mine and the people selling me the parts. I was very excited about seeing the '13 Cobra here in Germany and felt the need to talk about it. I think being a member of other forums is acceptable, even more so because I can talk about issues without censorship.

I don't think the ZL1 will be that great especially when it is limited by the transmission's torque capacity... Something nobody here wants to talk about...

yup ... it will be at least 556. Now, whether that means 559 or 595, who knows

What transmission has an unlimited torque capacity?
