1) You are voiding your drivetrain warranty with GM. Are you going to a shop that covers their work? (I have a 3yr/36,000 mile warranty on my build).

2) If you do get a warranty, remember that they are covering ONLY what they install. Not the stock driveshafts you blew up after a massive burnout at 650 HP.

3) It's not as simple as tossing on a supercharger and digging on a 750 HP dyno result. Did you forge the internals? If not, you will eventually blow the engine up with multiple WOT runs at the strip. (Not to mention, your supercharger is under warranty while you search for a new engine to put underneath of it).

4) In relation to #3, anyone can put a different size pulley and increase the boost/HP to big numbers, but if not built right and tuned properly, see #3 result.

5) If you got the cash- Go see Lingenfelter, Jannetty, ADM, etc. They are the masters. Ask the right questions AFTER you read every thread imaginable on here. I think there is still a sticky that goes over everything about Forced Induction.

6) You get what you pay for. Going the cheap route usually turns in to the expensive route later on.

As far as turbo vs supercharge? SC for me- TVS2300 Magnacharger is rock solid, been around for along time, excellent rep, instant torque (turbo not known for that) at lower rpm's where you do most of your driving. And it looks like a supercharger instead of an alternator on steroids.
thank you from your information, its helpful and im reading about it now... you know I just want to see what other members think here.

I didn't know much about FI when I started at all. The biggest help was the thread about everything you need to know about FI. Very well written with alot of info.

Seems like the breaking point for most is whether or not to forge the internals. If you don't drive crazy, then you may get away without forging. Really all depends on how you plan to drive the car.

The other big watchout is getting a proper tune. You also do NOT want to run out of fuel at WOT. And 93 octane is usually the minimum rating allowed.

Good luck. FI can be very enjoyable done right. My car does burnouts just sitting in it's parking space!!

"And it looks like a supercharger instead of an alternator on steroids. " -By ravensjeff. good description. I've felt the same way about the vortech and othe similar ones.

To OP..I agree with everything Jeff said. There are some local shops close to you but if you want proven results with this car...Go to Jannetty in CT. Ted is a very open and honest guy..call him and talk to him, or e-mail him. I was convinced that I needed a stroker (still want one...but probably don't NEED one) Ted talked me out of it even though he would have made way more money doing the stroker. Instead am going with a cam, and fuel upgrades. There are a few local shops around here. I took my car to Tony's Corvette in Gaithersburg, MD. for the supercharger install. It's a good shop but he can be a bit particular about what he want to put in the car (some may view that as good or bad) and he is really a Corvette guy. I think he has only worked a few G5 Camaros. He did my suspension mods and my supercharger. T&T in Frederick also has a good rep and he's worked on a lot of Camaros but I have no personal experience with him.

whatever you do or wherever you go. stay the F* away from EB3 in chantilly. bunch of shade tree guys whos main focus is to work on dinosaur engines.

example. was building my previous motor. a nitroused, high compression 347 LS1, forged crank, rods, mahle forged pistons, heads/ large cam/ FAST intake. TH400 trans with 4K stall.....went there because i "heard" they were good and they offered dyno "tuning". their way of tuning? diablosport predator. off the dyno..... not hptuners, efi live or even DFI tuning. their answer is predator is best for any LSbased engine....even the supercharged/turbod motors. needless to say when he told me this i ran away.....fast.

found my favorite shop in the area to be www.broadviewautoservice.com based in warrenton. for both tuning and parts installs (for things that were beyond my capability). i've sent him a lot of business over the years and everyone has been happy. everytime. pricing i very reasonable as well. John is the owner. shoot him a call.

Also. www.tunedbyfrost.com in richmon is another i HIGHLY recommend if you choose not to go with T&T who do also know what they are doing.

We have moved to doing our builds in house, but we have our tuning done by www.beheperformance.com. My set up is dirt simple..TVS 2300, Intake, LT headers/Catback, and blow cam..and it made almost 640 rwhp on an 93 degree day.

Jeff at Behe is a very experianced tuner who comes for a porche/exotic background.
