Take a good look at some of the Hennesey Cars.... someone posted a pic here recently and I questioned the fact that it still had the factory mufflers hanging underneath. Someone from Hennesey replied that they are not that bad on flow but tone it down real nice - sleeper style.

Harleys are the worst in that regard. Some owners purposely sit there and rev just to make noise, so everyone within a mile will know they have a Harley. I have a neighbor who does that. A lot. If you aren't breaking any noise laws, see if the offended neighbors will take up a collection to buy you a quieter exhaust

Like you said though, he doesn't drive it all that much. I bet if you drive something quiet every day and fired up the Camaro on the weekends you wouldn't hear many (if any) complaints. The thing is, its hearing the car everyday (in the morning) that's getting on their nerves. One thing, I drive pretty slow in my neighborhood at night or early in the morning to try to keep the noise down, that might help a little in the short run.

Sounds like the kind of neighbors that have co-ed baby showers where you have to wear a sweater tied around your neck. I would just get cutouts and the next time they complain, just say, "That's not loud, this is loud." Then open the switch.

How about putting mufflers back on and adding cutouts. Turn to muffler until you get out of the hood and then let her rip.

Yes, because pissing off a cop who lives next to you is ALWAYS a good idea. Feuding with neighbors is stupid, and adds a whole lot of unneeded bull to deal with.

My LEO neighbor is great to hang out with. But everytime we go out for drinks it's only a matter of time before he makes his first noise comment. Next we probably won't be going out as often anymore. That's when the problems will really begin because now I know he's starting to put some distance between us.

It’s three different homes dropping hints. One to my left and two directly across from me. One of them is a LEO. The other is an airline pilot. We all go out for drinks, we spend holidays together, my wife goes out with their wives. We all have a great time together. I don’t want to be “that guy” with the annoying car ruining the neighborhood.
Too late dude. I'm also in that guilty pleasures club.

^ This

Also why I cannot wait for the ZL1, my neighbor across the street is a massive tool and I want nothing more than to open up those butterfly valves and wail out some old fashion rough and tough muscle car roar.

Hey, I got an idea. Instead of all these guessing games, how about you ask them it it really is a problem.

If it DOES come to you needing to make changes to your mods...estimate the price for those changes, and then estimate the price for putting noise-reducing windows in the bedrooms of each of those neighbors. It might be cheaper to do that, and help neighbor-relations too...

A lot of brass instruments use a mute (it's basically a giant plunger) that they put into their horns or whatever when they need to play softer. Couldn't you do the same thing? Just remember to take them out right after you start the car.
Doubtful. If they're really nice neighbors, they won't say it to your face, even if you ask them. You seem like a really nice guy and they seem like they're considerate, too, and if I were your neighbor, I'd hope that you'd potentially get the hint, without somebody having to say it to your face. Because they're probably on the same lines as you - not wanting to piss you off by being inconsiderate and saying it to your face.

IMHO? Figure out what your options are, and discuss it with them! Let them in on your decision about whether to change it or not, e.g. benefits vs. costs.
