Are CGM & IBM coming back or not?!?!?!?!?!? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Here we are, some 28 days before Oshawa starts building the 2012s and I can't get a straight answer about colors for the '12 model year.

CGM and IBM have been on "constraint" since April 14th because the Tsunami/earthquake in Japan shutdown the ONLY factory in the world that makes xirallic, a component for those colors. The factory has been up and running again since mid-May.

Sooooooo...can anyone tell me if CGM and/or IBM are coming back or not?

Update 12AUG11...so by now most of you know by now (and if you don't I'll save you some post reading time) that according to fbodfather, IBM is coming back later this year and CGM is being replaced by a "richer" gray also later this year.

From what I've seen the answer to both of those are no, but if I'm wrong somebody will jump in and correct me. I know they have a new grey scheduled for the 2012 model, but I don't remember what they call it.

From an employee at Oshawa who takes the RPOs and LPOs (whatever that means):
CGM and IBM are not coming back. New colors will replace them at some point.

Any word on a replacement for RJT? I read something about crystal red mettalic(?) a while back but nothing about it lately.

Crystal Red Tintcoat is a very good color and I would also be interested as to an approximate time that it will be available. I think there are a few, or several, GM folks who follow and actively participate in this forum and surely they can give some sort of an estimated time frame? GM is bound to know a lot more about it than they have shared with us so far.

Every time there is a color thread, someone says this lol. But GM doesn't seem to want to budge on this.

But come on..just put the RIGHT shade of blue out there. While I wouldn't trade my ABM for anything else out there right now...This is the blue we should be seeing on the Camaro.

(This is the Sonic RS concept, that GM is supposedly releasing a year after the Sonic release)

There is going to be one. Its something like carbon grey metallic or something to that effect.

I'll go ahead and post this picture for the millionth time. As a potential Camaro purchaser, I would love to see this color available. Its not as light as ABM but not as dark as IBM. And yes, i would be willing to pay extra.
