ADM Scoop with a supercharged car?

I have a maggie and a cam in my L99. We went with the 3.4" pulley when the cam went in to keep the boost around 8 to 8.5 psi.

The torque increase with the smaller pulley was quite good, but I didn't gain much hp. My shop says the intake temp is killing my hp and if we could get those temps down, I could gain significant hp.

I've been reading threads on ways to lower intake temps. I'm not quite ready to dive into the ac compressor solution offered (yet). But, I have seen the ADM Scoop to help get more cool air into the cold air intake (I have a Roto-Fab, BTW). I've read a lot about the ADM Scoop on NA cars, but haven't seen (or been able to find) any tangible results from supercharged cars, so that's why I'm asking here.

Do you all think the ADM Scoop would be worth putting in a supercharged car to help with intake temps.?

Also, I'm looking at getting a hood that might help lower engine bay temps. like the RKSport extractor hood. http://www.rksport.com/main/part_det...mdid=1&catid=4

Do you knowledgeable folks think this would help my rwhp?

Thanks.

Yes, I have it. Ted thought it was worth while to install on my car last year. As for hard data, that'll require an email to Ted. I don't have for you, sorry.

What else are you doing to help with intake temps?

What about a ram air hood and making it functional? You may have to ditch the intake you have now and have an airbox fabricated. I did this on my third gen although I fabbed it myself.

Oh yes! How could I have forgotten that!?

I may just go with nitrous. But, I was hoping to find a way to keep things cooler even during normal street driving.

Although, if I went with nitrous, it might get that local yahoo in a 60s something Plymouth from trying to race me all the time... a little purge at the traffic light and he might decide to stop bein' an ass.

If you don't want to drop the cash on the ADM deal you can make something to scoop the air from the lower front grill and feed some up by your washer fluid bottle into the airbox. Not too hard pull your tire and fender well and it might take you a couple hours to fab up something to work.

I am actually getting ready to take the front facia off to install my Heritage Grill. So, if I'm going to put in a scoop, then this would be a good time.

I guess I just want to know if folks think it would provide any benefit and if anyone has actually checked the results of the scoop on a SC car on a dyno and measured intake temps.

I am not sure about how much it helped the IATs but Ted has numbers and the scoop alone added like 5-8 hp

You could call Andy at ADM. I've seen some of the cars he's built to include cars with superchargers. I'm sure he'd be happy to share his data with you.

Good idea. I know ADM is a great place and I will do that But, I also like reading results from the folks who have used them too. Thanks!
