I bought my camaro the way I build it on the gm camaro site.

They didn't have my first color choice (IBM) here in AK, but they did have my second choice (SIM) coming 'soon' on a boat, although they couldn't tell me exactly how long 'soon' was. But the second choice had rally stripes, which the salesman told me i could just take off if I didn't want them (which I didn't). And it didn't have a sunroof, which I did want. To top it off, they expected me to pay a $5000 dealer mark up for it, which was non negotiable. When I told him I'd just try to order what I wanted, he pretty much tried to talk me out of it.

I went home and got on Chevy.com. Searched dealerships in the Seattle area. I found EXACTLY what I wanted. IBM 2SS/RS M6 with sunroof. They were asking $1000 less than MSRP + $1700 to ship to Anchorage. If I'da done anything different, I wouldn't have wasted my time with that guy.

Winning.

was'nt planning on getting a new car. went to my GM dealer for something saw the Camaro, fell in love. Impala out Camaro in and loving it.

No. I wanted a black LS. After a month of "it will be here in just a couple days" they told me that they sold it to someone else. They then told me that since the '11 was going out of production, I had my choice between a silver one, or waiting for a '12.

Im glad I have an 11, but silver looks so plain on a LS.

we didnt order, but We were looking, The one thing we didnt want was a manual, due to my husbands health. but we got one anyways, other than that. it was Mostly want we wanted.

It has stripes but that was another thing we didnt want. BUT Oh well lol.

Would have got a 2LT with RS pkg if I could do it again...but if I could do it again and had the money I'd get a 2SS/RS LS3

Got what I wanted, a rare(at the time) 2ltrs with sunroof and auto, black with silver stripes. Just arrived the day they called me. Went to take a look and drove it. Took it home the next day.

i ddint order through gm but I used the USAA car buying service. so i picked out on the site everything i wanted. it took a few days to hunt down the color i wanted cause in late july most dealers around here still had '10's not '11s. but they got one for me in black, and although i orginally wanted silver stripes and they told me they it had silver stripes it actaully has cyber grey stripes. but ive grown to love them. what i regret was i wish i would have got a 1LT atleast, but oh well im glad to have a camaro and any thing i dont completly like about my LS i can change.

Lucky you...I had to travel all the way to Orchard Park to get it...even though I(we) live in the vicinity of 7-8 Chevy dealerships!

Yeah my dealer was great. Live in CT and he looked within 225 miles and eventually found the exact car/color/trim/options I was looking for in Maryland. Dealer sent someone the next day to pick it up.

Only thing I didn't get that I wanted was a short throw shifter, which is no biggie to me. I can easily install one later for less.
