Don't Sleep on My V6

You can get the filter from "VR" or "Green Filter USA" themselves!

Does VR call you to let you know that they are shipping your intake?

Finally found the correct email address I had registered with Maryland Speed...my unit shipped this last thursday and should be here tomorrow! I'll see if I can get my local shop to do both the intake any my ARK catback this weekend.
Had I the space and tools, I might do it myself, but alas I have neither right now.

UPS says mine will be here today from Vengence Racing...woohoo...I'll have to call & schedule dyno time for next week...time to use the free dyno time I won at a car show earlier this year...LOL...I have no base runs though...curious to see if I can hit 300HP with the long tubes, MRTv2 axle backs & the Vararam intake...still need my Trifecta tune though...that'll come later this year probably

Just wanted to say thanks for posting the original thread about Vararam needing photos to finish up the install guide. Didn't think it would take quite this long to develop the film though...

Anyone running VR and Flowmasters yet can post a sound clip and or dyno run. Or someone else show a before/after dyno run. I want to see/hear a little teeny tiny bit more before next week. Cause I'll order the VR like now!.

Just got finished installing my intake and a few questions.. about the heat mat, where does it exactly suppose to slide down in?? is it suppose to be over the whole radiator behind the grill like rolnslo's video, or is it suppose to slide down in between the radiator between the two metal parts(sorry can't remember what is called)like the black and white instruction??
Also, the filter already come pre oiled right(according to steve)? I touched the filter and it look pretty dried tho... it really does not look pre oiled ![]() Can some of you confirm this please. |

Are the holes in the heat mat centered front to back or are they more towards the front or back of the mat? If they are more towards one of the long edges, then the majority of the heat mat should drape over the back of the radiator (engine side). If they are more centered and there is some hanging over the front of the radiator, I don't think it matters if it is tucked into the space between the radiator and AC condenser (as shown on page 4 of the printed instructions) or if drapes over the AC condenser as well. The primary purpose is to delay heat exchange between the radiator and the intake while not moving. The secondary purpose is to block air coming in from the grille from slipping between the radiator and the intake. You want the air to be forced up into the intake, not going underneath it. As for the oil on the filter...Green Filter uses a thin synthetic oil on their filters and it does not have the typical greasy feeling of petroleum based filter oil. Your filter is oiled. Even when you clean and re-oil it, the recommended amount of oil to put on it is 1 spray of oil from the bottle for every 2 sq. in. of filter. It's not supposed to be dripping like my old truck's K&N filter was in the plastic bag when I bought it. One last thing...looking at your picture of the hose, make sure you have it completely on the tail of the intake. It looks like there might be a slight gap along the bottom edge of the intake side. You want to make sure your intake is sitting flush all the way around against the throttle body.
