Retro Camaro

I have seen some people with retro parts from the 67-69 series on their cars, emblems, gills.

How many have done this? It intrigues me that someone would make a Gen 5 look retro. Such as putting a 69 steel bumper on their car. IMO, I think the 67-69 should stay on the classics.

ive often thought the same thing. i mean if you really want a 69 just go buy one. dont ruin a 5th gen with retro fail parts. a freind of mine just bought a complete brand new 69 camaro turnkey complete car for a lil over 30k$ from classic industries. it was based off one of those dynacorn bodies.

I think if you like it go for it.. The thing I dont like about the retro kit is the headlights are too far from the sides, makes them look bug-eyed (Yes I know some first gen models where like that also).

If you took that green one and pushed the headlights to the edges like the 2010 normally has (and some of the 1st gens) it would look better.

I put the retro SS badges in place of the bowties on mine, and removed the red SS badges. I just think it looks a lot better that way.

Those hybrid 1st/5th gen cars above would look alright if the bumpers were more pointed, and flowed with the body lines of the car. It would help if these cars were a little bit skinnier too(not in terms of weight, more in terms of sleekness, and not being so close to the ground.)

The only retro I have done is the gill trim. Everything else to me looks out of place. Some do look good with the V8 emblems below the Camaro emblems on the side. Since I have a V6 I would not put V8 emblems on it.
