My wife has a close friend in Round Rock she has wanted to go visit for some time now. There is a 99% chance we would attend, but I need a date.

September is still a pretty hot month (temperature wise)

Ok, I looked at the schedule. Have you heard anything back from the ballpark? Assuming we're doing this sometime in August/Sept, these are their home games for that time period:

Aug 3rd (7:05pm) - Wed
Aug 4th (7:05pm) - Thurs
Aug 5th (7:05pm) - Fri
Aug 6th (6:05pm) - Sat (Tickets $12-$20 each)
Aug 7th (6:05pm) - Sun
Aug 8th (7:05pm) - Mon
Aug 9th (7:05pm) - Tues
Aug 10th (7:05pm) - Wed
Aug 20th (7:05pm) - Sat (Tickets $6-$14 each)
Aug 21st (6:05pm) - Sun
Aug 22nd (7:05pm) - Mon
Aug 23rd (7:05pm) - Tues
Sept 2nd (7:05pm) - Fri
Sept 3rd (7:05pm) - Sat (Tickets $6-$14 each)

I've bolded the weekend games, they're all in the evening so anyone traveling from the other major metro areas wouldn't have any trouble making it to Round Rock well before gametime. If we do a Saturday, anyone could make the return trip on a Sunday or have a quiet late night highway drive.

Maybe a late lunch, 1-2ish at Salt Lick, head over to the game lot and have a bit of a tailgate before the game?

Anyone have any preferences on the date? Days you absolutely can't make? I think it's probably a grand idea to plan for a Saturday, so should we start there and weed it down to one of the three? EDIT: Added prices for the three Saturday games, assuming the park doesn't give us a deal.

I haven't heard anything yet, but I emailed the director of promotions and marketing this morning and a few others, hopefully will get a response soon. If I don't get one by Monday I'll try to give them a call. Those three dates look great to me so does the salt lick. Still would like to try to get in a cruise on Sunday maybe.

LMAO!!! Well it looks like the only weekend games after July are August 6th,7th, 20th, 21st and September 3rd and 4th. My email got forwarded onto the correct person now, just waiting for a response from them. I will be sure to keep you all updated as soon as I hear something.

Edit: Hah!!! Just looked up the guy the email got forwarded to on their website....he's an Aggie! Hahaha....I got this!

I could handle being an ambassador, but I don't have a good understanding of everything that would need to go into this. And as long as he doesn't want to meet on the 4th of july weekend (unlikely) or the week of July 11th (I'll be out of town), it's not a far drive from South Austin.
