My wife was just going off about the G6 convertible. How much she loved the car and how fun it would be to drop the kids off at inlaws and drop the top and go ride.... so I surprise her and buy it for her. Have my dealer deliver it and set it right infront of the door. I was at work and they told me they left it. I call her up to tell her to go check to see if the light was working on the porch. Expecting her to be speechless. well needless to say i got an ear full. and we no longer have the car.. so yes i am definately going to tell her im going to get it hoping she'll get tired of fussing about it before i do and learn to love it like me

Wow.
My case is quite weird, here in France we don't even know IF the car will ever cross the ocean, so for my wife, it's just a hobby, a beautiful dream I'm in that will shortly be replaced by a new one (I'm an obsessive kind of guy).
So she moans when she sees me looking at pictures or when I can't make up my mind about the color (What do you prefer, honey ? Black ? Silver ? Red, she says - If you buy a fancy car, better buy it red, so you're sure EVERYBODY notices it, you moron, she would say, joking).
I am really talking about this car twice a day, so she's getting used to the idea, but doesn't want to believe in it.
Really, I think that she doesn't want to believe in it but will go crazy the day I actually get mine.
Because I am getting it.
I mean, this is the essence of CAR.
All the others are just drafts.

My wife is wonderful about it. She is not a car person whatsoever but supports me with my Camaro insanity. When I was thinking about asking her to marry me, I told her that if she was seriously thinking about us being together for the rest of our lives, the Camaro thing is a part of me and I'm not going to change just because she came along.

10 years and 8 Camaros (soon to be 9) later, things are great!

Wife?...... THAT'S who is walking around here. Kind of forgot about her once they announced that the Camaro is returning. I wouldn't call my looking for any spec of information on the fifth gen rather then eat or sleep an obsesion though



I only kid here, she is actualy ok with it, of course I've been a little obsessed about camaros since before she met me so she knew what she was getting into.

My husband thinks I'm crazy because I've been obsessing over the Camaro since I first saw the concept car. He didn't think I would actually order one. He refused to go to the dealer with me. I don't think he believed I really did it until I received the letter in the mail with the concept print. He has expressed zero interest in it and seemed quite annoyed every time I would excitedly tell him new things that I've found out about it along the way on this website. Until... about a month ago when a guy at work was talking about how awesome the new Camaro is, then he started bragging that we had one on order, but had to call me on my cellphone at work to ask which motor and transmission we were getting, and he tells me we are going to have to take turns driving it to work. Then last weekend when we went to the OKC auto show and I was so excited to see the car that we got there 10 minutes early so we wouldn't have to wait in line to sit in it and I hopped in first. I was so happy we had the car all to ourselves for that 10 minutes and looked it over bumper to bumper. Afterwards all I can say is Oh I can't wait to get mine. And what does he do but criticize, the backseat's too small, driver's seat is too small, not enough driver leg room, blind spots are too big, trunk opening is too small, and says he can't believe I'm still going to get one after sitting in it. Now watch... I'm betting when it gets here he'll want to drive it to work the next day. Fight will be on!

My wife has been a trooper and is slowly getting on board. In fact, just the other day, after I was on the site and talking to her about the car before bed, she came to tell me that she had a camaro dream that night that went a little something like this:

She was somehow locked in the Oshwa, and was watching as they were produced. She couldn't escape, but then, she saw bumblebee and decided to steal it for me!

How awesome is that!

But seriously though, she has come a long way. When I first got the bug, back in June last year, I'd just put a couple of grand into my grand prix and she was very adamantly against it... but since then, things have worked out for us pretty well financially and we'll have the prix paid off in <1yr AND I've done nothing but talk about it since then. So the overexposure has made her actually like it. She even grudgingly admits that she likes it when I show her pictures or took her to the auto show.

I'm proud of her... although, little does she know that I'd get it even if she didn't want me to, it's just nicer to have her on board.
