hugger do you have the cam card? this may be a good way to find out, If we have a vender that has the same cam on the shelf to have them help you, by looking in to it.
I do have the cam card....was just reading over the warranty info.

Nope, the other way around....it looks like the pin sat too high and the installer tightened the bolt over the top of the pin.

What I mean is in order to have installed the cam correctly the installer would have had to grind the pin because the pin appears to have been too long.

I must me misunderstanding.

Did any one look at this thread? seems his car had a pin brake to and its a comp cam.

No i have never had to cut the pin that is the cam manufacturers Job, But then i have never worked on a LS motor.

That is EXACTLY what my parts look like.......I think we've solved what happened to this engine.

Huggerorange73, does it say any where on the comp cam card you need to use there cam gear? may be it was Designed to use there timing gear?

Only thing it mentions on the card is valve springs.

Like mentioned before, I don't think many bother to check this. 99% of the time, it's not an issue. I always have to be in the "special" 1%.
