Parked next to a 5.0 today
And had time to take a quick look at the Mustang. This looked like a base 5.0, no HID, large wheels or leather on the inside. When I stepped back, it really didn't seem special at all to be honest. I don't hate Mustangs, but definitely prefer my Camaro over them. Of course, I'd take a 5.0 over a V6 Camaro but I'd rather have a SS. To top it off, a family walking by stopped and asked me a bunch of questions about my Camaro, seemed like they didn't even notice the Mustang. I could tell the Mustang owner liked his car as well though, since he was parked far from the entrance and by himself. I had the respect to leave a space in between us. Anyway, here's a picture:

If you look just right at the front bumper lights and all, it almost look's pissed to be parked next to the ford! lol

My thoughts exactly, even though it is a 5.0 it just looked way too plain jane. The Camaro makes a statement if you ask me

To me the Camaro body has more of a WOW factor then the Mustang to be honest the interior is better looking then the body.

My buddy just got the 5.0... he actually loves my Camaro and the look of our vehicle, but grew up in a Ford vehicle. We have fun checking out each others vehicles... I admire American muscle and love going out with his 5.0 and my Camaro.
If I take my homer glasses off, I have to admit the vehicle is sweet. However, it is an old and tired look now.. I think he even realizes that. Even the 2014 concept is the same exact vehicle that has been out for 15 years. He purchased some performance upgrade for rather cheap and that gave him the wheel upgrade to 19in wheels (with very attractive stock rims), brembos, and a strut tower brace. I was a little annoyed to see that... granted I know they are only 250-300 bucks for us, but something I think chevy could have at least offered down the road for us. His 5.0 handles a bit better than my SS, but I think the playing field will be a tad bit more even in a few weeks with my hotchkis track pack. You do def notice driving in a vehicle without independent rear susp once you have been in the Camaro I love this Camaro more than any car I have ever owned... plan to keep it my whole life if I can. However, after seeing his options available to him... the ONE area I wish GM would have improved on would be the availability of well researched and competitive performance parts to this vehicle in after market FROM GM. I think they dropped the ball big time on that end...I guess that is ONE benefit of having the same structure and design for over a decade with Ford. With the appearance upgrade and the HIDs it is a good lookin car. All in all, it is not a bad car at all, fact is most of us would have been interested in one if the Camaro never came out, but damn that look is just too tired. My buddy will be the first to admit his car wont turn heads like this was does...

Whenever I go to work on the weekend this guy in a 5.0 parks at walmart and manages to take up a whole 4 parking spots just parks right in the middle. Its just facepalm.

Our friend bought the GT before I managed to convince the wife that the SS was a needed addition to the family
It's an ok car but Ford missed the boat by not updating the style. We will see what they have in store for 2014/15 but I don't think it will cause whiplash lke the Camaro does. You know we are really helping the economy by keeping Chiropractors busy
