OBX Catback LS3 (no haters please)

At the risk of incriminating myself I must disclose that I have installed OBX longtubes with cat deletes and am pleased with the result. I'm now interested in a catback setup to go along with them and am wondering if anyone has any experience with the OBX catbacks.

If at all possible please try and keep any responses objective. There are plenty of threads on here already bashing this brand for reasons other than quality or performance.

That said, anyone out there running these? Any drone with longtubes?

Thanks.

Did you tune out the O2's. Go on you tube, there's a ton of videos on there with different set ups.

OBX makes catbacks? I bet they look like SLP if they do....sorry couldn't resist.

Really though, never heard of them.

Yes, they make them. You can find them on eBay and ERZ Performance can get them as well. I searched YouTube but can't seem to find anything on the catbacks--just the headers. I will be getting a tune in the near future, but haven't gotten a CEL yet using 2" antifoulers.

Ya not much info on them yet--maybe they're too new? I wouldn't necessarily trust eBay either but if ERZ can get them there must be something to them.

I have the OBX LTs no cats and went with the Doug Thorley catback. Awesome deal and it sounds great with no drone.

Ya I've been thinking about the Doug Thorley too, but I was worried about drone. Maybe I'm not now. Any sound clips of your ride? Did you do anything special to eliminate drone lime j tubes, etc?

I don't wanna jack this thread but I do want an honest opinion from you guys with the obx long tubes.
-do they make a good difference?
-are they good quality from what you can tell?
-any fitment problems?
I don't wanna buy a set of these and regret it

Before Doug Thorley, I was in drone Hell!! I was trying to figure the best way around it. Even worse I was going to be putting in my cam. After talking to Ivan at Southwest Speed, I put my trust in him after I found out his own ride has Doug Thorley with zero drone. He swore up and down. I bit the bullet and all I can say is that I am 110% satisfied. I have OBX LT no cats with Doug Thorley catback. The tone that comes out of it is AWESOME with absolutely ZERO DRONE. I cannot say it enough!! When I step on it, it sounds like a Nascar going down the road. I currently have no driving video but here is my idle with my cam recorded by a very cheap camera (It does not give the exhaust sound any justice.):

I am not here to argue..or cause anything...just honestly answer the question. Power is similar to other LT's. They shoud fit fine...except we has some issues getting them bolted to the motor because they have oval bolt holes. Very hard to get aligned. Quality..is the one place they will not add up to most other headers. If you search, you will find detailed pictures and info. You get what you get for the price.

Wow Steele that's a great review. For about the same price the DTs might be the best anyway. Im still curious to know if anyone tried the obx cat backs though for comparison.

To camarowguy, I'm totally satisfied with the OBXs but I've only had em for a couple weeks now. I installed them myself and definitely had no fit issues. Took about 5-6 hours but could go faster without the Tucson heat (112 that day). Toughest part was squeezing the driver side manifold/cats out of that tight space (didn't have to mess with the steering) and believe it or not the dip stick. That thing was a pain to get back in. I left the battery unplugged overnight to get the computer into learning mode. I definitely notice a difference in response and I'm hoping that will get even better with a JRE tune in the next couple days. Hope that helps--feel free to ask any other questions.
