The only problem is your hostility to the original statement.... And if you continue to react like that this fire can grow......

When you are sitting at the table and having a meal and others aren't eating then what exactly are you upset about????

Maybe you should be more sympathetic to those that aren't eating from the table.....

I mean present an argument of how many jobs it still creates in the US but to just act is if you are irate is more concerning then the fact that they are being built in Canada alone with nothing being built in the US.....

No one said all but some....

Have you been to been to Canada ?
Outside of the look of the money, Speed in Kilometers, Gas in Litres, and Turning left on Flashing Green lights, you would have no idea it was an "different" country.
Well execpt they say "eh" allot

The people are awesome.

Though the Camaro is assembled in Canada, I personally know work was done on the tooling and dies here in the U.S. So I know Americans had a hand in bringing the Camaro back to life.

I work for a Canadian company and seeing how dedicated and hard working Canadians are makes me happy the camaro is made there. Anything made here in the USA these days is half ass, it's not how it used to be. Change the work culture then you can start building here again.

You should be happy it's not made in Kansas or Mississippi where the Toyotas and Nissans are made. My Nissan steering pump started leaking at 9K miles and my toyota water pump started leaking at 10k miles all due to poor assembly. Those cars have assembly issues due to lack of skills workers.

Thanks that is all I was trying to prove to these Mustang guys..... but I couldn't find anything.... so any links would be GREAT!!!!!

Of course they brought this up to me and it caught me off-guard.....

So I was trying to find that maybe some of the parts were built in the USA....

I am in the Northern Virginia Car Club (and more car clubs) and was more in need of some ammunition...... But still I had some concerns also because I'm also a shareholder and family GM guy....

And yes...to agree with NavyDood...the Fourth Generation Camaro was built in Canada as well (I had a 1994 Model Camaro), but in understanding what Baltimorejohn1 means, it is a bit of a let down that a Chevrolet Camaro is built outside of the states, it really should be built in America.

Let's face it, the slogan doesn't go like this:

"The heartbeat of Canada, is today's Chevrolet".

What's next to build in Canada...Harley Davidson's?
Harleys are assembled in the USA but they are far from a 100% american product, tour a Harley factory sometime during open house and note the country of origin on many of the parts boxes, the new V-rod engine was developed in Germany and made by Porche, sadly it is nearly imposible to purchase ANY product that is truly AMERICAN

This is a big load of . I guess that's why Toyota and honda have the highest quality ratings. While there isn't nearly the amount of manufacturing as there should be in the USA, there are many Hi quality things still produced here. I'm around a lot different forums of manufacturing with my profession and see many highly dedicated American worker that take pride in what they do and build very good products. It's you way of thinking that is ruining this great once great country. You just proved my earlier post with yours.

While I too wish my American muscle car was built here in the States, I'm happy with the end result (quality, value & enjoyment).

With enough blame to go around between politicians, shareholders, unions and consumers, is anyone on here doing something about it?

OP, read about the new money GM's investing into plant retooling and development work for the new Corvette and upcoming transmissions. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

[QUOTE=suplex;3398729]I'm disappointed that the Camaro isn't built in America too. Also, even on the window sticker, it states that the Engine is from Mexico and the Transmission from France.

It must be the V6 that is not made in the US. My sticker says both engine and trans are made in the us.

[QUOTE=Baltimorejohn1;3399038]I call BS on that because the top two producers of american built cars are Toyota and Honda..... they are under the same policies so that isn't the problem.....

Its a shame that both the top 2 US composition autos, are not from one of the US companies.

I'm all about free market economy... build it & let the consumer decide if where it is buit makes a difference in thier purchase... I think as far as the camaro goes, i dont think the consumers care where it is built.. its a good selling car..
