Unhappy I finally got one... Now the wait?!

Well, I finally said goodbye to my 1999 Pontiac Trans Am (Indigo Color). I finished signing the mountain of paperwork on my new midnight blue metallic 1SS and was told a recall was not done yet. And I couldn't leave with the new car, so here are the keys to an 08 Impala loner. Yay... I was told the recall was a computer flash to fix something with the AC? Since I was the last person at the dealership except financing, my sales person and the cleaning crew, I had to leave some what dissapointed. Oh well, after a full 8 hours of work tomorrow, I drive 45 minutes back to the dealer to pick it up. Hope I won't miss my TA too much, and hope some headlite etc. mods are not too expensive/difficult.

Dude I promise it will be worth it...........The AC deal is for real. I know some of the 2011's have had problems out of it. Aleast your dealer is taking care of it before you leave with the car................ Welcome to Camaro5 and enjoy the site , if you have any questions about your car , someone here knows the answer!!!!!!!!!!!

I have wondered the same thing. I have an early 2011 , #371 and haven't had an issue at all yet. I guess I got leftover 2010 parts put on mine.........lol

Be glad it's getting fixed now. Bought mine in March and the a/c just would not get cool! Asked about it and was told it was "normal" Well I'm in Florida, been in the 90's since April!!! Took my car in 2 weeks ago to have the oil changed for the first time and was told about the recall. Took them an hour to change the oil and fix the a/c and WOW! what a difference. The car freezes me out now! Totally worth it!

Congrats on your new ride & we require pics asap

ok why would they not let you drive it home and let you bring it back... its not a safety issue and they let you sign all the paper work..

They said they were not allowed to let it go without the "Operation". This SS comes with standard headlights. What do you think about the "projector" lights aftermarket on ebay? Kinda pricey. Maybe there is a better place to get em'?

I know the RS headlights are super expensive!! Have you looked at the Oracle lights?? I'm debating on adding them to my list of mods in the future. I hate the regular headlights so I covered mine with black outs, lol! Easy fix and looks good too

I just bought the bulbs from AAC and they make a world of difference over the stock halogen's. I just don't like the look of the Halo's on the RS cars as much as the standard light and thats why I didn't order my car with the RS package. I do like the brightness of the new bulbs , however compared to the stock lights.

I'll keep that in mind, tks!. I wasn't crazy about the RS package, one reason why I didn't go with it but one thing I did like were the headlights.

Definately check them out. The bulbs really make a world of difference and another thing with the Non-RS car's is you can run fog's and headlights together........

As far as interior goes, I know one of the first purchases I would like to make is the door and dash inserts to get that matching paint color gloss look. Mine has the fabric covered ones. Blahhhh....

Got a link to the nice halogen upgrade bulbs? Or are they an ebay type item?

I'm not sure if you can get the same ones on ebay or not. The ones I bought are from a vendor on here "AAC". You can find them in the marketplace section on the forums.
