Correct, 100% fixed. When you pay people $40.00 an hour plus benifits to put wheels on cars this is what you get. The decline of American industry and apparently there's no end to it. Sorry IMO.

How about you take a break from smelling your own farts for a second and realize that, like I just posted, the Big 3 create more American jobs and pump more money into the American economy than any other car manufacturer. In a perfect world every American would have a job that pays more than anywhere else in the world and everybody would speak English and love the Chicago Cubs and we'd all be able to eat as much cheesecake as we wanted without worrying about diabetes or becoming morbidly obese. But really, that's just my perfect world. your perfect world is not the same as mine. And it won't work for anybody but you. Get over yourself and quit calling everybody that tries to explain to you facts or opinions that you don't agree with un-american.

Hey, be glad that the Camaro is being built at all. It wasn't too long ago there was no Camaro.

When you make all your products in country X and country X's currency becomes highly valued in the global market, it becomes more expensive to pay employees, buy parts and ship your products in country X. So logically to ensure that you are not stuck in a rough patch compared to other manufacturers in other countries, you build several manufacturing sites around the world and adjust production in each country to assure a healthy profit margin. Toyota and Honda have manufacturing in the US because right now it's cheap to build in the US. Not because they give a flying rats @$$ about American jobs. GM needs to have factories in other countries to remain competitive.

As someone previously stated, follow the money.... I don't have the statistic in front of me, but more of every dollar spent on a detroit 3 car stays in the US than any other car manufacturer. That includes money that goes to R&D, corporate, manufacturing, suppliers, sales and everybody else in the food chain that lives in the US.

Also, look at the graphics. 26 plants in the US from the detroit 3 and only 15 from any of the Asian manufacturers.

A little off topic, but watch John Candy's classic "Canadian Bacon" about the US invading Canada...

OMG, this subject again? Just frustrating. I get so tired of hearing people whine about this

Hands down, best quality from Team Camaro in Oshawa. Our Canadian cousins are exceptional, the product is superb, simply put, best product, best people, Canadian/American venture.

I concour fully!!! The fact that we STILL have some factories left in Eastern Canada is a blessing to those who are involved within the industry in Canada! We in the West (fortunately or unfortunately.....however you want to look at it) take this for granted sometimes as we tend to live in our own little micro-economy which is fueled by everyone on this forum......and let me just say THANK-YOU to everyone who buys fuel!!!

Kudos to the men and women of the Oshawa Plant!!...My hat's off to you....you put a smile on my face everytime I sit in the driver's seat!!

+1,000,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot believe this subject gets brought up again and again :(

I was proud to take the plant tour at GM Oshawa a few weeks ago and get a chance to thank every worker I came across, for building me the best car I have ever owned and driven in my life!!!...they were all actually thanking US for buying the Camaro!!!

Oshawa employees, I salute you!!!

Here I am with the beloved super60, aka Mike Judge, and my NY5THGEN friend Pete during the tour...I was so happy to finally get a chance to meet and thank Mike!!!!

Mike Judge ROCKS!!!

My family has been here ( Oshawa ) since 1870 , its always been a GM Town and all of the men worked in the plant or office . No different then a City/Town with Steel Mills or an Armed Force Base thoughout North America . We are all proud to work for GM and build quality products for the world. If thats Nepotism , then i guess i'm guilty !
