I know that at ~3500 miles, the ECU is still holding the engine back. The ECU cut power at about 5k and ended the pull early when I was on the dyno - so while that's most likely a temp thing and might just be a failsafe - that the ECU is paying that much attention and controlling the engine is worth noting.

Talked to the tech, and he'd said some engines could need a lot of miles before the ECU treats it as fully "broken in".

So his recommendation was, interestingly enough, not to worry about power or anything, but just put miles on it till the ECU stops providing the safety buffer.

The computers on these cars are a lot more complex than we often give them credit for.

AFAIK, there is NO break-in period in the ECU... I've never seen any evidence of it in any thing I've ever come across... Got my Camaro on a Wednesday and was at the track on Sunday... car pulled hard all the way to the redline...

The next week put the car on the dyno...

Motor might be loosening up a bit... not sure it would be enough to be noticeable...

I'll post your result in the dyno sticky but a few question. What gear was the dyno run in? Im guessing 3rd from looking at your mph and is WCF "with correction factor ASE?

WCF - Weather Correction Factor...

Sorry, is your car auto or manual?

Did they dyno with the hood open or closed?

Thanks for the info!

One thing to anyone thinking about doing dynos, may want to try doing a pull or two with the hood closed.... During the whole Airaid thing we found a fairly significant difference between hood opened and closed.... just a thought...

Would having a big fan blowing air into the grille make much difference during a dyno?

Installed my Vararam on my SS today, def feel some more power! Took me longer to track down the screws that were missing in the shipment than it did to install!!! Anything I should be watching out for with this thing that anyone knows about? Took about 5 minutes for the computer to adjust but after that I was at 155mph in no time
