Thanks. I wouldn't feel right about accepting COTW (if it was offered) until the car was finished. Hopefully, I'll have it done in a month or so. I keep getting sidetracked, plus I had to have foot surgery and haven't been able to do much for the last two months.

Changed the mounting location for the Passport QI45 radar detector to under the center of the dash where the center speaker used to be. Center speaker was removed for the new sound system install. Today or tomorrow I'll be reconnecting the battery and setting the amplifier gain and seeing if everything is working. An awful lot was disconnected and/or modified.

Hey Frank, quick question
How are you getting that mileage? I thought the SS got 24 max. |

Believe it or not, it's the turbocharger that makes the difference. It's the best of both worlds... high horsepower plus the extra fuel mileage. That's why I like turbochargers. My twin-turbo Challenger SRT-8 picked up additional fuel mileage as well.

Powered up and everything so far seems to work! Taillights and Showstopper mirrors functional as well as the HUD and Metra interface. Kenwood radio powered up OK too. I won't know if the Sirius works until I can back the car out of the shop. I get no satellite signal in this metal building. Got an airbag fault since the seats aren't installed yet, but this was expected. I can clear it later with my TECH 2.

I would have thought that a Turbo would drop the mileage.
Guess you learn something new everyday. How much does a turbo cost? |

I think kits run anywhere from 6 to 8 thousand. It also needs to be installed and tuned. Then you need to think about upgrading the fuel system, clutch, halfshafts etc. Not a cheap modification by any means.
