This car is about to get a lot of attention from all the gearhead mags. I want the road test numbers between the Camaro Mustang and the Challenger

I don't think I've ever seen a magazine announce that there is a set time and date to release an article. Guess I'm gonna have to stay late at the office just to read it as it is posted

The camaro will beat the challenger and mustang no doubt unless they put up the GT500

Jalopnik posted it first (6pm EDT) but cz28 posted it a while back that Friday is when the embargo is lifted. Motortrend probably just didn't want to be left out

It's pretty common these days for the manufacturer to set an embargo date and time because of the immediacy of the internet. That way no writer/publisher has an advantage over another when they do the press launch and magazine A sees the car on Monday while newspaper D sees it on Wednesday. I remember seeing this when the ZR-1 was launched. It used to be based on the date a magazine would hit the newsstand. I'm not sure if that is the case anymore.

Oh yes, I understand embargos, but mostly the end of the embargo is a surprise. Articles just magically appear. We don't hear about a specific day often and never a specific hour. Thats what I meant

True. But, most of the time there isn't as much interest or hype about the launch. Or at least that we notice if we're not into that specific car. It does seem to be more common that embargo dates are becoming known.
