boggs down and dies
My son's 91 camaro rs has a 3.1 v6. We are planning on swapping to a v8 later, but for now we would like to get the v6 to run properly.
Usually it starts good but after a bit starts running slowly and dies, then when restarted keeps dieing. We have replaced the egr valve, map sensor, oxygen sensor, ignition module, fuel filter, and distributor. The fuel pressure is ok and consistant but problems remain. Any theories? |

Check the Alternator; you need to make sure the rotor and stator are working sufficiently to generate Direct Current (DC) to recharge ur battery.

it dies at idle?, or while driving?
make sure the battery terminals are 100% unmovable.. also, whenever I was at idle my car would shudder like it was gonna die. I thought it was my alternator. had it tested at kragen and they said it's probably the iacv. I swapped it out and it no longer shudders. perhaps your iac is completely clogged/not working at all.

Yup defiantly the Idle Air Control, mines starting to creep up on me. :(
It's either gummed up or just plain broke. If it's just gummed up then clean with B12, get a new IAC gasket, and install correctly. At least I believe that's how you do it.
