GMPP exhaust: How far should the tips stick out?

I had my dealer install the GMPP exhaust (not the off-road version) with tips on my 2SS. I wonder if they did the install incorrectly as the tips don’t seem to stick out as far as I expected. Mine don’t come close to clearing the plastic at the top of the opening. Does anyone have any pictures showing how far they should stick out?

The tips should just clear the plastic, otherwise there is potential for melting. Should be out as far as stock did.

Sticking out a little bit is good. Its when they don't stick out you can have an issue. If they don't stick out a little bit all the hot air will go straight up into the plastic.
So its best to get the tips out far enough to clear the plastic.

GMPP Exhaust

Here are some pictures of my GMPP exhaust system. Mine stick out just a little bit and they fill up the cut outs nicely. The system has became louder now that I have 3,000 miles on the car.

I'd try to get them out a bit more. The tips are only about half way out at the top.
Check out this thread. Go to post number 28 and watch this video. This is close to where they should come out to to be 100% safe.

Those are recessed way too far.

There is a bowtie on each tip. You should be able to see the entire bowtie standing back a few feet from the bumper.

I haven't had any issues with the back plastic around the tail pipes? I definitely don't care for the tailpipes sticking out any further.

Mine stick out far enough so you can see the bowtie that is on the top of the tips. I would assume GM put the bowties on there so people could see them. Here is a pic, can't really see the bowtie because it is blurry but you can tell how far it sticks out.

Mine stick out just to the point you can see the bow tie. Maybe 1/2 inch at the top outside the plastic.

Thanks for the responses. Mine look the same as mpyle007 above. I’m going to call my dealer service department when they open and see what they say. I hope they don’t give me a hard time about this.
