This is what I'm talking about with the excess glue. Maybe Steve or somebody from VR can chime in here, but it seems to me that this will disturb the airflow?

I just went out & checked eveything on mine...she's still sitting tight, no glue & no deformed plastic...woohoo...only thing I changed on mine as the thumb screws...I'm not a big fan of the screw with a plastic cap pressed on it (we used these a lot at my previous job), so I went to the local hardware store & got some #10-32 solid stainless steel thumb screws to replace the ones that it came with...I'm still loving this intake...even after a few weeks, I still find it hard to keep my foot out of the throttle...well at least to the point I was at before I got the intake...lol...the difference in the throttle response is amazing...I've noticed a little deepening of my exhaust note, but not much...of course with the LTs & MRT 2.0, it's hard to tell...lol...I haven't really noticed a change in my mpgs although lead foot syndrome may be the cause of that as well...I'll check it again in a week or 2 just to be sure, but I think I'm good to go & definately happy with this intake...even though it was a long & bumpy journey, good job Vararam!!!

Im done- EXACTLY the same length on the horn. The one they sent me is IDENTICAL in the horn length- I just got done re-doing this install. I get to the last part- "dry" fitment (no silicone hose) - I notice its still sitting the same on the TB. So I measure it. Its EXACTLY the same size. Now I gotta go pull it again and reinstall my stock!!!! WTF. This will not fit my car and stay in place with the horn this length. This unit has been restored to original condition and will be for sale. It has a new upper AND lower half (Never driven on). First PM.

Mine "fits" exactly like the photos posted a while back- by Bourgoi (bottom of page 92)- Its simply too long. No matter what i do (even biasing the radiator forwards mightily) - willl allow the horn to seat flush its always at an angle being pushed up by the radiator. Going to experiment somemore with hopes of saving this project.

It wont go any further
![]() I got a brand new $350 dollar intake getto rigged and now its free spinning so I cant tighten like it need to be ![]() The fit is better but the top is 1/4" shorter than the bottom. I asked VR about this and they said it was fine maybe it is.Too much hard glue? the pic does not do justice.. its actually alot bigger in real life ![]() How could this happen again? BULLS**T!! |

Bmore - I had the same issue with one of the thumb screws but when I switched them to the other side I was able to get it in with some pressure. I think maybe it might be slightly off center and I was lucky enough to make it line up with some pressure.
As far as the glue goes, I noticed quite a bit as well - I was unable to get my MAF in initially and had to file away a little bit of the glue to allow the small peg to pass through. Once I did, everything seemed to fit perfectly and the glue inside the intake didn't seem like it would be a tremendous issue as far as the performance of the intake and its durability is concerned. I took some pictures but am having some issues with my card reader at the moment, I'll post them as soon as I can. But this thing fit just about as tightly as I can imagine. I'm pretty sure I got it to sit perfectly flush, but there isn't a gnats ass of wiggle room on this thing. I'll let you see the pictures and judge for yourselves as soon as I can post them. I only managed to start the car this evening and got no CEL, but my first drive will be tomorrow on the way to work. I'm keeping my tools in the car just in case . I'm really looking forward to testing this thing out and will keep you all informed.

Had a hell of a time with the new wingbolts also. I had to enlarge the holes where they bolts drop in a bit and flex the upper in order to NOT crossthread the brass inserts. Remove your bolts and look through the hole Bmore- you can see what I ran into. I also had to file the MAF hole a bit -glue drippings wouldnt allow it to fit. I REALLY dont care so much about those minor things- I just wish it would work for me. Maybe if I sand the intake horn a wee bit at an angle it would fit flush for me. I could experiment on the damaged lower first I suppose.
