Before I say more, I want to explain my current situation so the membership understands some of the driving forces behind my decision making process. In addition to working a full time job, I'm caring for 2 sick parents. One has Parkinson's, the other is dying from cancer and I really don't know how long she has left. I'm sure you can imagine, I have my hands full... When the camaro first came out I took an interest in it and wanted to buy one. In order for me to make this happen I needed to sell another car I have, and save enough for a down payment. Now I had a plan in place, and the only thing left was to learn all I could about the camaro and what better way to do this than to join a club and talk to some camaro owners. At that time, I joined the only club for the area I was in, UpstateC5. Shortly after, another club was created, CDCNY. I joined them also. CDCNY was interesting to me because I figured most of their events would be more local to me than a club that covered all of NY State. That doesn't mean I won't get involved in events for both clubs when I'm ready, but my first goal is to get the car I want with the options & mods I want. Once I have my camaro, then I would have something I am proud to show and talk about.

As I've watched the posts & events unfold over the past week, I've wondered about many things. I figure if I'm thinking these things, maybe others are also. I'll list them below in case anyone wants to answer or comment.
- Has the club set up a bank account to keep the dues in ? Yes
- Has the club filed for Non-Profit Status (You might need this status for a bank account)? Undecided
- Will the club have officers like, Pres, VP, Secretary/Treasurer ? No
- Does the club have any bylaws ? Yes
- Other than the Prestige of saying "I'm a charter member" is there any advantage of being a charter member ? No Why 10 charter members, and not some other number ?
- What determined if a member could become a charter member ? Was it attending the recent meeting ? (I would think any member that has been in the club from the beginning, such as myself, would be considered a charter member).
- What happens when the club reaches 25-30 members, will the club stop accepting new members ? That is the idea
- Do regular members also vote in new members, or is this just a charter member thing ? Any Member
- If you end up with a problem member, will they be kicked out of the club and what is the process for this ? Yes, Majority of members rule.

I've been here from the beginning, and to see what's unfolding with the club does make me sad. I know not everyone will have the same expectations for the club, but I've watched the club grow from nothing to I think over 80 members. This growth at times resulted in recruiting members that may not be very interested in the club, and I might understand the need now to figure out who the non-interested members are, but the methods to achieve this also seems strange to me. Having an intended target (25 members) for the size of the group seems counter productive, all I can say is be careful what you wish for...

As for my past & future involvement with the club: I've met a few members, learned about some of the camaro mods, commented in posts when I felt I had something useful to contribute, but I'm really mostly a quiet member who hopes to become more active in the future when I have a camaro I'm proud of to show. I find it hard to pay a membership fee when I don't have my car yet and am not really ready to participate as much as I would like to, not to mention the health issues also holding me back from getting more involved. We'll have to see what that cutoff date of Aug 30th brings for the club. If I don't continue with the club in the future I do wish the members the best of luck. I might stop by on-line to see what's new, and when I'm at a show, I'll look for any friends I've already met to say hello... (Posted on Facebook & Camaro5.com)
Thanks John for the info. These are things to find out about and discuss.

Sorry to hear about your parents. Family first, it sounds like you are a class act stand up guy!

Blacksheap - Thanks for the wishes on my parents, etc. --- Took me a minture to notice this, but BIll did answer most of my questions. Scroll up to his 1st reply. His answers are in bold.

Bill - Also Thanks for the well wishes for my parents & the answers. This can be a tough crowd over here because there is a history between the 2 clubs that I'm well aware of.

I dont own or have a club, unlike you.
Not everyone can be as cool as you and own their own club.
I do belong to a club though.

You have lost a few more to upstate(me) C5 congrats!

If you are too ignorant to see your abrasive tone and un-apealing demeanor maybe you should take a good long hard look at yourself.

Why do i care? Because of the cowardly and rude way you treat people(me and my SO) that dont agree with what you want and your conduct as a person Irks me. Its grimy and rude.
And its cool that the temper tantrums you throw should be cited some place where you cant delete them.

It really is too bad that you ruin things for so many other people.

You obviously dont have to answer my questions( and you havent) and thats fine.
Good luck with the club, and your issues.

Apparently you don't or can't read anything that doesn't please you. That's fine. Temper tantrums? OK If you say so.
It was a club decision by people that were at the meeting. Yes they're were 11 people there but did you or anyone ask for it to be a different day? NO!!
Nobody owns anything, it's a name.
So you don't belong anymore that's ok. C5 is a good club.
Enjoy yourself and stop complaining about something that you are not part of, you'll give yourself an ulcer. What's done is done. But you know somethings can always be changed. But you won't be involved. And you can say what ever you want but it means little to us (yes, The members that are still in (96)(all members are not on FB)read your tantrums. Not everyone jumped the gun and left without asking questions or seeing if things could be changed.
P.S. nobody really has to explain anything to you. E

This is to Blacksheap and whoever else it may apply to:

OK I have been sitting back and watching all the BS that people have been slinging. I don't know who all of you are or how you were connected to CDCNY but the behavior exhibited on here is appalling!!!! Are you not an adult?

First of all - Bill W - is not and has not been the only person involved in all the BS that is going on - there were many people at the meeting that was arranged by another member NOT Bill and attended by many other people NOT only Bill and I do not recall seeing any request to change the date so someone could attend!! So before complaining about the date or results of that meeting - get the facts straight.

Secondly I view the behavior on here as very juvenile - all the name calling, abrasive behavior and ignorance as you say - have you read what you have written - that's like the pot calling the kettle black. I didn't play like this when in high school and its too bad some grownups still do.
I have never in my life seen someone carry on so much and so long over something as trivial as a CAR CLUB - don't you people have a life? A family? You had your say and now it is time to move on - find another hobby or spend time with your SO.
IT'S A CAR CLUB NOT A WAY OF LIFE - there are many people in this world struggling to survive another day due to health issues or surviving life in general - PRIORITIES PLEASE!!!! All this anger and hatred needs to be rechanneled to something worthwhile. LIFE IS FAR TOO SHORT FOR ALL THIS!!!
Let's all act like adults for a change of pace and stop the tantrums, name calling and juvenile behavior!!! Don't bother responding to this as I will not respond back -it is done as far as I am concerned - ya'll have a good full life and take care!!!!!

Agree'd, the fued has carried over to this forum and i apologize.

Not that it matters anymore, but this is not how it works or did work. A date is made a question is asked on who's attending. Most of the club on FB marked "NOT ATTENDING" (holiday weekend) It was also never on the website. The point of all this was to have club participation of members, members that cant make it to all of the "important" meetings. You said your self most of the club isnt even on FB, so what chance did they have to say something?
I dont know why that is so hard to understand. Its a poor attitude to think that since people are busy or not on FB they dont want to participate. Do you see why its exclusive now?
I guess it doesn't matter because you do only want 25 members. I understand some people just join to join, but there are some that work 24/7 or have family issues.

Its good to hear that B-W was and is not the only one, behind everything.
OMG finally a truth!

"I have never in my life seen someone carry on so much and so long over something as trivial as a CAR CLUB - don't you people have a life? A family? You had your say and now it is time to move on - find another hobby or spend time with your SO."

Read above posts, we were with family we see once a year
Nice to sling some more BS around tho good job getting the facts straight.

Again, its not just a car club but friends and community or it was supossed to be. When someone deliberately try's to exclude people its not cool, especially when its supposed to be all inclusive THATS what its about. Its about right and wrong. I guess some people dont care about community. I guess thats the problem or my problem that i have trouble accepting, that and the fact that the original post still says it welcomes everybody.

You either haven't read everything or you dont see the point of this all, or you keep making excuses for it.

Im glad you just had to create an account to get your say in tho. I dont consider that juvenile at all.

Again, sincere apologies for carrying this over to here!
I do apologize to bill W for not being behind all the actions of the club.
That could have been easily covered within one of the first posts by just saying so, instead of taking a posturing position, and arguing more.
I honestly dont know why he never stood up for himself or even explained rationally or threw whoever else it is under the bus lol.

This has become pointless for me, CDCNY will obviously not say anything like sorry for the confusion sorry for wasting your time sorry for excluding you!
Sorry for removing you from FB without reason or notice! ect ect. This is how the club works its the monarchy way or the highway!
I will however apologize for the wasted server space to camaro5.com Sorry to the GOOD Members of CDCNY that have to deal with the drama.
But anyone looking into the club will at-least have an idea that it is exclusive, and not to be mislead or have their time energy and money wasted.

Just for the record, this is non being answered with malice or anger to anyone. I would like to not discuss it any more. Thank you.

I honestly dont know why he never stood up for himself or even explained rationally or threw whoever else it is under the bus lol. I stood up for the club, no point in throwing anyone under the bus. But, the decision that was made was by the 9 people in attendance. Could it have been done differently, maybe. But to jump down someones throat and start name calling or without even asking if this could be addressed and discussed was wrong. For example, look how nice John Orloff's letter was. No name calling, he asked questions. Some I didn't want to answer on here, because I was getting ready to try to get things back to the way it was. I started this club to be fun, that got lost on the way. Different people had different ideas on how to run it. I went with those that had more experience at it. It didn't work.
This has become pointless for me, CDCNY will obviously not say anything like sorry for the confusion sorry for wasting your time sorry for excluding you! Sorry for removing you from FB without reason or notice! ect ect. This is how the club works its the monarchy way or the highway!
