That color fits the bill exactly for me, and is the happy medium I am looking for. That would be my choice right now if I could order today.
My thoughts exactly, OldSchool.

The Dark-But-Not-Quite-Black with a hint of dark blue would make the black pieces stand out just enough to catch the eye. I really hope this is where they were going.

I asked my cat for confirmation of your claim and you'll never guess what he said. - "Meow !"

Interesting color. Just for storytelling, I was very interested in IBM when I shopped for my truck. What made me turn away from it was that it seemed flat in some shades of light. IBM looked great in pictures, but in person I was a bit underwhelmed by it (which was why Black Granite Metallic ended up being my choice).

The dusk blue looks to have an attractive metallic feature that gives it depth. IMO if ABM or Lemans Blue doesn't make the palette by the time I make a move for the zl1, then Dusk Blue may be a nice alternative.

I like the Dusk Blue, but I would not choose that color.

Only question I have, is dusk blue a color that is doable on a mass production line? Like the sunrise gold (or whatever the official name of the TF car's color is) which is a $2-3k upgrade, is dusk blue a special, multi-stage paint job?

Why wasn't this an original production color to begin with? Anyway, love the rear diffuser and exhaust tips.

That's a very valid question. I would guess that it isn't, but guessing is so much like assuming, and we all know what that can do.

Does anyone know what this specific paint type is or who could tell us?

Thinking about it from a practicality viewpoint, if GM is going to offer a new color across the board, they probably won't go with an exceptionally difficult or expensive type.

They haven't said that ZL1 would get any "special" color choices, though they also haven't said it won't. I would be willing to go an extra grand or so if necessary - if the dusk was a limited color.
