I love Chicago. Beautiful city!
I have a lot of pics from when we went to Chicago last year. It was such a nice city. |

I did my college internships (co-ops) there. The company (Sargent & Lundy) is HQ'd in the steel grey building right behind the tall part of that fountain in the picture above. Yeah, had a blast there as a college student.

On the subframe inserts install, having an air hammer/chisel is nice to get the washers to pop off. I tried the 2 hammer method, a long pry bar, a wrecking bar - none of those worked. Got my air hammer out with the rounded pointy bit - they popped out after a few seconds.
I am planning on going to the Indy meet on Saturday, but if it looks like rain, I might skip it and come give you a hand.

I don't have an air chisel... Is there any other day you could come out during the week? I have a compressor. Any day but today I am good after 5:00.

Yesterday I switched to stainless brake lines, added the clutch reservoir and bleed the brakes with 570 racing fluid.

Are there any tricks to switching the brake lines with an ABS system? I've read on the Trailblazer forums that people had to take their TB to the dealer to do some fancy, schmancy brake bleed with a high-tech tool.

How are you going to attach the clutch reservoir? I found the clutch bleed screw but couldn't get a wrench on it very good so I decided not to bleed it. I should be ok without bleeding it. I went through about 30 ounces of new brake fluid. I got rid of a lot of the old nasty fluid though not all of it. I only had 36 ounces of new brake fluid so I was hesitant to take out more of the old stuff. I purchased the bracket pictured below and needed to grind some off the lower edge for it to fit. Attachment 263736 The bracket design pictured below lets you use the original hose. It appears the original hose is closer to 5/16" than 3/8". Traditional manually bleeding with an assistant working the brake pedal worked fine for me. I used a vacuum pump some just to get out more of the old fluid faster by myself. |
