This is why I walked away from the dealer I had bought 4 cars from same thing . I knew this is why they did not want to give me a price so they can up it later.

You guys need to come to grips with the fact that GM does not give a shit. They don't care if the dealer screws you. You want the car, and you are willing to do what it takes or wait long enough to get it. If dealer A screws you.....and you go to dealer B who treats you properly....it doesn't matter....GM is still getting their money for the Camaro.

Face it, GM doesn't care. Thus....nothing will be done about this.

You can threaten to buy a Mustang or whatever...doesn't matter.....right now...hundreds of thousands of people are going to take your place as a customer....screwed or not.

The only thing you can do is screw that particular dealer and never buy from them again. But again....GM doesn't care.

Oh so wrong you are. The major problem is GM could be sued by trying to help the customer. And the dealer would win.

Most of the dealers said between 1,500 - 3,000 over but they weren't sure. That is why I decided to stay put. They are allowing me 27 for my vette and going 1,200 over. Right now I just want to keep peace until I can get them to give me something in writing. I'm going to try tomorrow to get this. Believe me after I get my car I will not step back in there again!
You don’t have to order it from KY... some dealerships will drive it to you.

I bought a car from a dealer in MS, he found a car in Charlotte, NC.... they drove the car from NC to me in Birmingham, AL for no extra charge. That was 1 month ago. Use your phone, or you can use one of the awesome dealers on this site.... RPO_Z28....Camaro Scotty...etc.

Some dealers want your business and are willing to make a couple of sacrifices to get your business... unlike your current dealer.

Nice 68 btw !!!

It makes perfect sense if you know what you're talking about. There are franchise laws specifically preventing GM from getting involved in dealership issues. Period.

No....it makes zero sense because he said "You are so wrong". Then he made an argument which backs up my point that GM will do nothing.

That doesn't make sense. If I'm so wrong then why did he just back up my point? Get it?

THANKS! IT IS MY PRIDE AND JOY!

THAT IS WHY I LEFT THE INFO ON MY VETTE IN ONE OF MY COMMENTS. IF THERE IS A DEALER THAT WOULD BE INTERESTED IN TRADING WITH ME I WOULD GLADLY LEAVE MY CURRENT DEALER AND PROBABLY RAISE HELL ALL THE WAY OUT. BUT I AM TIED TO TRYING TO TRADE IN A CAR NOT JUST BUYING ON OUTRIGHT.

I think he was trying to contradict that you said GM doesn't give a shit. Whether they do or not is irrelevant to the fact that legally they can't intervene. That was my point.

I think the point was GM cares, but can't do nothing about it- or they risk getting sued.

This is precisely why GM needs to go bankrupt. Then they can re-write the dealer contracts and start giving a shit again about the customers who want to buy Camaro's and that shouldn't have to deal with dealerships out to screw them while they look the other way. I know Scott Fbodfather and other GM employee's and bigshots read this thread, and they don't even want to post in it or get involved. So far Camaro Scotty has been the only one to say anything...Gm should get this fixed and Scott, I hope you can be a voice for us and others who are buying your vehicles and get these policies changed so something can be done about this..

+1

taht and GM isn;t really that involved in the sale part of it becuz technically when you think about it the dealer is BUYING these cars from GM and Reselling them (it's like if a store sells wholesale and you buy it and sell it at a higher price and someone complains to the wholesaler)

I live in Frankfort KY and just ordered a 2SS from Frank Shoop in Georgetown and got a signed buyers order for MSRP. Bob Whitaker was our salesman, he seemed up front and honest. This was the first one ordered through Frank Shoop so he should remember me, my name is Jay Johnston, tell him I sent you and thought he could help you, Frank Shoops number is (800) 775-1089 if you need anymore information PM me and I will send you my cell and help any way I can, which may be nothing more than moral support.
