So I placed my order, here in Texas. at 7:45am on 10/13/2008. I had only been waiting forever to get to that point... only to find I had to go with a second choice color, Cyber Gray, on the high-end SS/RS model I was ordering. Bummer. My dream of Blue w/White Rally's was crushed.

When the decision changed to allow the Imperial Blue, at least when I found out about that in early February, I was ecstatic. I immediately called the dealership and adjusted my order, without issue.

Last week, the dealer called. My Camaro will be the ninth model off the line... the 9th one made!!! I will be the proud owner of one of the first ten of the production series *and* it'll be in my desired Blue w/White Rally's combination. Hooray!

One question though: the dealer told me that Chevy is doing something special to the first ones of the line, but wouldn't tell me what. Apparently, there will also be some special marketing stuff related to this coming my way soon, but once again they wouldn't tell me what. Anyone in the know about this?"

My dealer told me no such thing though. He simply said that they're getting two Camaros this month and 5 next month and that they're not getting a show car.

That's it, that's all. But to some here this sounds IMPOSSIBLE since 2 of those seven cars are V6s. Well, we'll see.

I spoke to my dealer today and he said yes there is still a constraint on the v6's and they have no idea when they will be in. He told me I am the first orderd out of their 21 alloted. He did say that since I put money down back in aug to get the right to be the first v6 at his dealer I am getting it at MSRP and the ppl ordering now have a $3,000 mark up. He also stated the price did go up since the pre order was taken. So I am saveing money. So he had good and bad news.
But then again "he is an idiot" and may have been blowing smoke up my arse.

Did really read the thread, did you? That's okay, we'll wait until you catch up.

But for the record, the forum believes that V6s will not be made any time in the near future because they're constrained. Obviously failing to know the definition of "constraint". Meaning V6s are being made but not in great numbers. They ARE being made.

Now, to my case. My dealer believe that MY particular V6 (one of two ordered in this dealers' first 7 Camaros) will be delivered early-mid April. He fully acknowledges that things may change but that's what it look like now.

This is far from me saying my dealer said "MY CAR WILL BE HERE ON APRIL 18TH!!!!!" But some took this tiny bit of news as an opportunity to jump up and down and make it seem it's virtually impossible for the car to get here next month.

This has nothing to do with taking "your dealer is an idiot" personally. And has everything to do with people who have NO idea of this particular dealer's allocation situation and speaking as if they do.

You need to be around here and read more posts before chastizing someone for trying to set someone else on the correct path of anticipation regarding their car. Yeah, my guy is selling me mine at MSRP as well and I was the 2nd V6 ordered (back in November).

You can believe this as FACT: I hope everyone gets their car quick and I already know tons will get their car before me. I DO hope you get your car that soon....but I was just trying to interject some reality into what your dealer told you. Thought it might help, but I guess you weren't up for info contrary to what you want to believe. I'd be happy to be wrong cause then all the others that had to have their V6 be on hold will get them like they should have. I'll make sure you ask next time if you want to know other views against what your dealer tells you before I post.

Well, my V-6 came in late today and I will pick it up on Friday. My dealer said since I am such a nice guy, they are going to take $5,000 off the sticker and that's the truth if i ever told it!!!

Well look.....(Obama impression) First of all it seems like a lot of fairly new posters in here. If they would take the time and read posts going well back they would see that there are dozens upon dozens of dealers making completely incorrect statements all the time. trm002 has been there through all of them. Usually after much research and dealer and corporate input it is shown that these dealers are really idiots! trm002 has become the poster boy for calling these sleazoids out for what they are. Obviously we all would hope that all the dealers allocations are coming out in April. We would also love to see the V6 orders filled. The seats stuffed with cash and a golden ticket placed in some of the production cars that would entitle the owner to all accessories free of charge. But the facts are clear......V6 as of right now is still on constraint. Allocations are through Qtr3....Come on guys done kill the messenger or the guy that points out the error. Focus on what would be most benificial to the folks on the site and the guy that posted. I would suggest he read some of the posts on tracking orders and maybe RPO's posting tracking an order through the process. Then he will be armed with the info he needs to go to his dealer and see the reports himself. Have a great evening.

You must have a magical dealer. Cause any other dealer's post on this site I've read will tell you that if a car has a constraint it will FAIL the pass-one screen in dealerworld...meaning it won't get accepted by GM. But what do I know....I'm just the guy that only posts to be right and to make people sad...
