Help me silence my friend's claims of Ford Mustang superiority!

I have always considered owning a Cobra, but could not get it with an auto. ( in case my wife wanted to drive it) The GT at the time the 2010 Camaro came out only had 300 hp (verses 400 hp for Camaro auto) The reason for me buying a 2010 Camaro was when I saw the protoype in about 06. I told all family members I would buy the Camaro as soon as possible. I am very satisfied with my Camaro " love at first sight"

Why do Ford fanboys have such a need to justify their vehicles?
It's not just Mustangs, it's trucks and everything else.
Just sounds to me like a severe inferiority complex. Be happy you have what you have and let everyone else do the same.

This is easy. Forget all the specs, the Camaro is just a better looking car hands down. imo it does not matter if I'm faster or slower than someone else. What should matter to YOU is how YOU look and feel in the car the YOU choose.

I guess you don't live where I do. I pass myself all the time anymore. This is a rather dumb argument that people make all the time to defend the camaro. Of course you see more mustangs. The current version alone has been in production since 2005. Our camaros have only been out since 2010. They're selling more camaros than mustangs though which means in five years your going to see a lot of them running around.

In all honesty, I think the cars are pretty equal and it really comes down to taste and driver feel.

I loved my 2006 Mustang. That being said, I wanted the new Camaro as soon as it came out. I just bought it two weeks ago and I love it. I'm doing my best to stave off the mod bug as long as possible. I put over $7000 into my Mustang and I know I'll be doing the same soon.

I find it odd when people completely hate one car over the other. Honestly I am not a big fan of the new models of the Mustang (like the front - not the back), but I dont hate it. To me the Challenger is one boring looking car, but I dont hate it.

As far as the bail out - Ford did see where the market was going early enough to correct things, but even they burned cash just to stay afloat for years and were simply lucky enough to work things out on their own. Dont forget they sold off a lot of brands to get some liquid assets. In the end I think the past few years has forced both companies to really put out some great vehicles and we get to reap the benefits of that.

Now Chrysler... that's a different story.

Like the fourth or fifth poster said, some Mustangs look D@MN fine, yours would be one of them, BEAUTIFUL car! It's just the majority look rather plain when compared to the Camaro and Challenger, I do like the look of the new 5.0's however.... In the end we all win, because the muscle car wars are back and better than ever!

Tell your friend that:

1. We're talking about the CAR, not about how any particular company handles their finances.
2. Specs are just that, "specs". People don't usually buy their cars based totally on specs.
3. If he doesn't Shhhh about it already, you're going to find a new friend.

I was at the drag strip last week and I had a nice time talking to two Camaro owners. One had a 10 SS, the other a modded 87 IROC.

To me, people are more important than the cars they drive.
