Look folks, I love the Challenger, but lets be honest the interior quality is good, much better than other Chrysler products, but it still has very little warmth. I can deal with the Camaro's funky interior, it looks like they spent a few dollars on it.
idiot? ahhh name calling is cool....lol

i understand what you mean...the interior is a bit plain but IMO comfortable... the camaro interior in my opinion is plastic city.....but i wouldnt buy these cars for interior to begin with...

I don't see where you're coming from vis a vis interior though.

Challenger interior is a bit plain but that said it's clean, functional, and aof good quality. Looks classy but not very fancy.

Camaro interior has some awful cues that ruing the execution.

Yeah Cokie cuts are way better..

Yeah you're right Kev, these cars about as much about the interior as a kia is about performance. To each his own, but after driving the Challenger I had been psyching myself up over for 9 months, I was left with one of the sourest tastes in my mouth.

To me the Camaro interior is soo much nicer than the Challenger... it's different from every other Chevy out there, the Challenger... was stolen from every other Chrysler vehicle... 300C, Magnum, Charger... Lame, no points for originality or effort. I do love the exterior of the Challenger however it still lacks what the Camaro has, a mix of modern with retro the Challenger is almost exactly what it was back in the day... so again to me GM put way more thought and design into the new Camaro than Dodge did to the Challenger, it's as if they just rushed to get it out the door before the Camaro...

lol it's all good...it comes with the territory.

btw the challenger did take the charger, 300c, magnum interior ...why not? saves money and it alrdy shares the same platform. gm went different but still used cheap materials....so it evens out....they changed the interior but used cheap material. like I said before I wouldnt buy any of these cars for interior...if you want that go get a pontiac or caddy...fast and nice interior...muscle cars are notorious for bad interiors and great performance.

I do think that Dodge and their Challenger is going to be the hardest hit competitor, the new Camaro just outclasses it all around, especially when price is considered. The Camaro's MPG numbers really put a dent into the 'stang value/low price position as well though so maybe the hit will be about equal. Back the the Challenger though, in some ways the Challenger does have a slightly nicer interior, but it's rather boring so it ends up a wash with the Camaro's not so boring interior IMO, and I think a lot of people in the muscle car/coupe market will agree. In a four door/family car boring will normally win the day, but people buying muscle cars tend to appreciate such things a bit more.

imo it outclasses it in performance but the rest is personal preference...but i dont think the challenger will have a problem...it isnt a high volume car.....its only being produced max 30 k a year...unlike the 100k camaro numbers...or goal.

The Camaro isn't really a muscle car either like the Challenger is. Totally different demographic.

I would say performance and cost (MSRP/MPG) are both clear and objective advantages for GM but I think we agree overall. IMO Dodge did well to position the Challenger as something of a niche/low volume vehicle, and I think they made the right choice (for Dodge) on a boring but somewhat nice interior and getting it launched quickly for initial low volume high markup profits. The economy in general already has Dodge offering big discounts on the Challengers, making it so they have real competition between the crazy expensive GT500 and the somewhat slow Mustang GT will hurt.

GM isn't quite so retro/muscle as Chrysler and their hemi obsession but that's just crazy. The two most cross-shopped cars with the Camaro will surely be the Mustang and Challenger.

Looks like at least some Challenger people are worried. http://www.challengertalk.com/forums...rpriced-14348/

To each their own though. An SRT8, all told, is probably $48,000 out the door with the Chrysler bonus cash. A comparable 2SS is roughly $38,000 out the door, give or take. For some, $10,000 isn't an issue. For others it's unjustified.
