I am majorly let down by those pictures........i know i have been a major proponent of The Quality of the camaro but if they cant put simple panels on the door right what else is wrong inside.....

You pulled me back in, not stressing just to many unknowns and until we have a final word on the issue, people just keep rehashing the same over and over again. That's all. Happy to see that some are on their toes about QC and I would be pissed if that was the final product. I just like to get some more firm answers not speculations. So I going to sit back and wait that's all.

And yes I agree FROM THE PICTURES this is probably out of specification.

So if you get your car and you don't like it - POST AWAY. But not this car, it was way out of process to have the owner walk the line with 100 fans and their cameras.
Intimate knowledge? This is THE FIRST REGULAR PRODUCTION CAR! What is so intimate about that? This problem was identified in the past and we were told that it would be addressed before production. Don't be telling me that things like this should be addressed by the dealer. Just state that it is unacceptable and will be fixed shortly and be done with it instead of blaming "100 fans with their cameras". Or - state that it is normal and dealers should fix it so people can go off and ask Honda and Toyota dealers how many times they have to adjust the door panels.

We are here to make sure that the product you put out is outstanding. We want GM to build the best product out there. We are GM's biggest fans and we know what others are going to say or think. THIS SITE IS FINAL QC FOR THIS CAR AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE. I suggest anyone responsible for and/or working on this car remember that.

Remember something else Number 3 - most of the guys voicing their disappointment bought this car - think about that for a second. Makes a big difference compared to others who have no money down or haven't put their money where their mouth is. You will have no better marketers then all the guys who have chimed in with their disappointment. Be careful about blowing them off...

My dealership isn't the topic of this thread, but thanks for bringing it in -

No disrespect Scotty, you know I have the highest regard of you and your dealership.

There is not as much flexibility as in the past to do something like that. The process the Camaro goes through is that after it is painted (all panels are on it and checked for paint flaws/gaps/alignment) it goes to trim (fittings). When in trim, the doors are removed to allow the interior of the car to be completed.

While the doors have been removed, they go off and get fitted up with the window, window mechanisms, locking mechanisms, mirror, wiring, noise barrier and.....interior panel. Then, after the interior is complete, the doors come back and are rebolted to the car and the door wiring is hooked up. See how this problem arises?

The solution is to make sure all panels are EXACTLY alike in shape and form and that the mold is absolutely perfect - it's not right now. It could simply be the top pin mount being a bit off on the panel. If it was perfect, the panel would be perfectly aligned as soon as the assembler bolted the door back on and closed it. Again I say I believe it's the suppliers fault and not the assembler.
This has been the most informative post so far, Thanks Hylton..And it sheds some light as to why this problem is going to be difficult to get right if the panels are the issue.. And personally, I do not want to have the dealer pulling off both panels when it arrives or having it sit at the dealer because they have to order these panels since I do not want the panels to be rattling in a few years pre-maturely. This is the same reason I am ordering the Boston acoustics..I do not want to have to remove the door panels to install new speakers to avoid rattling issues as well... I might as well not order the Boston Acoustics since there may be a good chance this will fall on the hands of the dealer after the fact.. I hope I am wrong and a change in the building in order to get this right the first time is implemented in the building process..

I'm sure GM knows not to let such a large design error go unfixed in production. They'd get torn apart in reviews and lose sales, something they really don't want right now. They'll fix it.

Arc and I didn't see eye-to-eye on the previous thread about the interior but this one is definitely an eye opener. I am not pleased. Thanks to Arc for having the good eye to really notice this.

My previous posts weren't about disagreeing but more of showing that this may be inconsistent which could be worse. We could see photos of one guys Camaro with perfect alignment and, later, a different one with jacked interior. Would kinda make you bite your nails before you get your own. Will mine be aligned or not?

Thanks to Number 3 and 80Zedder for shedding some light on this.

Superman this is the third thread about interior and the only one with a logit concern IMO. If you don't like the interior then cool, it's not for you give your reasons and some positive suggestions and who knows it could effect change. But to say it's crap and leave it at that just bugs me. Thats all.

I don't like what I see in the images but I'm not losing my mind over it.

I will reserve judgement when I see my car for the first time.
