3M clear bra (Scotchguard)

I have an appointment to have this done tomorrow but I'm on the fence as to whether I should keep it. My camaro is black and will be my daily driver, including during the New England winters with all the snow. I can stand a few little tiny chips on the hood over the years but I CAN'T STAND the cars that are just littered with them all over the front of the hood.

Any opinions, suggestions, comments?

Thanks

Sawyer did you buy a kit and installed it yourself or did you get it professionally installed?

I had the Avery film applied to the front of my car. Wish I would have done it sooner. My recommendation is definitely keep it.

Another thing...Take a bottle of detail spray and a clay bar with you. If your installer doesn't get the gunk off, it will be permanently there under the film.

I always get mine done professionally, bumper, hood, pillars, top roofline and mirrors. It always pays for itself at trade in time. I attempted to do it once myself and failed miserably.

I haven't got my SS yet. Shooting for Jan-Feb. Will get it professionally installed.

Definitely get it done. I had my side-gills done last month after I got them repainted under warranty. I'm getting my front bumper repainted in the fall and then after winter hibernation, I'm getting that clear bra'd as well.

I have a 2012 2SS on order and have been thinking about getting a clearbra done, but it just seems so expensive. I know a paint job costs ton of money, and in the long run its probably worth it but everyone i've shopped around with is like 1300-1500 for partial hood, fenders, mirrors, front bumper, and rockers. I dont know if I trust this stuff will hold up a few years from now to dish out that kind of money...

Keep it!

Had my '02 SS done at a shop before I picked her up from the dealership. While I didn't drive her during the Colorado winters, you should have seen how amazing my paint looked after 7.5 years. I did the full front bumper, 18" up the hood, and behind each wheel. Skipped the mirrors and never had a chip. It looked great, I think I was the only one who could tell it was there. I think I only had a few chips on my vehicle in the entire time I owned her.

I did my DD Malibu just because I like to take care of my vehicles and like for them to stay looking nice. Will be doing the 2012 asap.
