People think the UAW contracts are the big push for CH 11 reorganization. I got news for you- I agree with Supermans statement(s) above- at least what he's trying to get at. GM needs to REALLY tighten the reigns on their dealership network (along with contract re-negotiations) to have any hope of profitability going forward IMO. In the situation they're in, being legally FORCED to turn a blind eye towards these situations is just plain WRONG. My .02

I know GM can't do anything about the price the dealership charges for the car, but that dealership is using fraud now to obtain that car. They couldn't order it without using your information because they could only put sold orders into the system. Seems like GM could cancel your original order so that the dealership won't receive it after all. That shouldn't affect the franchise laws.

Thank you very much. I sent a message to Scott asking him to chime in in this thread.. Scott is the only one as far as I'm concerned who may be able to do anything about this at the corporate level so these problems get dealt with in a much better manner by GM in the future.

i believe it WOULD BE GREAT IF GM WOULD GET INVOLVED AND FIX THINGS LIKE THIS, It would give the a whole "COMPANY THAT CARES" persona lol

DID SHE GET SCUM-BAGGED? YES
i believe franchise laws were mentioned earlier ? i'm not familiar with them but that could hold water? but what i was trying to say was the dealers DO NOT work for GM they own a company that sells cars that they buy from GM.
GM honors warranties and whatnot but i can see how right now GM says this is really out of their hands

What I learn from this thread..

Customers who are buying GM vehicles may get screwed over by the dealers.

GM has to by law look the other way, but GM cares about the customers.

In the end nothing gets done and these screwball dealers get rewarded with their sales and GM is happy because they are buying their cars at cost...etc..

End result is that GM is losing more and more customers to other car companies and GM gets a bad reputation for life for not doing anything about this.

If GM wants to restore themselves as the top dawg in the car industry, they need to get involved with the selling of the cars and make sure their customers are happy..And I am talking about the actual people who end up with the car's not making the crooked dealerships happy by looking the other way..

HOLY COW.

Being a female myself that really pisses me off reading that. I would NOT let it go. I would take it as far as possible. It's ordered in YOUR name, it is going to be YOUR car.

GET legal. Make it right. I am sure you will get a lot of help from this board. I am also #1 at my dealer, and my order was picked up today. I have been weary of it the whole time, but so far, they have been good to me.

You and I sound a lot alike....I to have bought 4 cars from my dealer.

KEEP us informed to let us know what happens. Be strong and assert yourself

I feel for ya, I really do, just cancel the second Camaro so you dont get stuck with it. Just go to another dealer, that would probably be the best

This is being handled. I was asked to help, and I did, from the very start. Nothing more has to be done, no emails or pm's have to be sent to Scott.

Calm down - it will get resolved.

Problem is, GM is required by law to look the other way. Its not to keep the crooked dealer happy, its to not violate franchise laws. There isnt a single thing GM can do, other than to lobby in every state to get the law changed, which I'm sure they are doing.

I think we all can agree what this dealer has done is outrageous. Don't blame it on GM, because their hands are tied behind their backs. If you want it to change, contact your state's politicians and get them to change the law, so GM can help. If we dont like it, its our fault for letting our representatives write the law that way.

Don't know if this has already been mentioned, but although GM may have its hands tied, (and I'm not convinced that's true) Kentucky's Motor Vehicle Commission does not. They have to license dealerships and investigate fraud and other complaints against dealers. It would be worth letting the dealer know you intend to follow up with the MVC; maybe that will put the fear of God in them. http://www.mvc.ky.gov/

I would like to know what did you do to fix this problem? So that we all may know what to do in these situations down the road. we always can't come running to you for help now can we?
