OK….I know from what I here they don’t take much off the Camaro but I think my strategy really works, I just didn’t know if I could squeeze a little more.

I think you'll be a lucky SOB to get a 2012 for $500 under invoice.
According to the 2012 invoice prices, you are looking at: 2LT - $27216 Auto - $875 RS - $1210 Sunroof - $792 $30,093 Throw in the non negociable destination ($900) and your at $30,993 out of the gate. Then add in whatever dealer fee there is and the usually hidden non talked about advertising price, whatever that may be too.... tax and tag too... I dont know what strategy you think you have that gives you the advantage, but good luck getting a dealer to come off dealer invoice.

But you are forgetting that you will also have dealer fees, tax/tag, and advertisement fees on top of that 30,993. You may be able to weasel out of the advertisement fee junk, just make sure its not written in anywhere else. You need to ask your dealer that information and what their fees are. For example, I have a dealership 6 miles down the road that their fee is $485. The one that is 20 miles down the road is $699. Your tax is going to be based on where you register the car, you arent getting out of that. You arent getting out of either transferring a tag or buying a new one either. Here, use this... it will become a new best friend: http://www.edmunds.com/calculators/

I show Invoice as 27,216.00 / RS 1,210.00 / Sun Roof 792.00/ Auto 1,042.80 / delivery 900 =$31,160.80 (minus $500 below invoice) =$30,660.80 would this be correct or am i missing something. With this price i dident know if i could squeeze a little more, my dealer said he would go $500 below invoice without knowing the prices yet.
Thanks for your help in advance, Anyone.... Quote:

Post up your dealer, cause im sure if your dealer is honoring $500 under invoice without knowing pricing, there are others here who would love to make a purchase as well. I think hes gonna hit ya somewhere else with charges if he is that confident and already willing to drop $500 under.... just my .02

I was thinking the same that why I posted, as far a him saying $500 under invoice I would think that would be a safe bet seeing invoice is allways going to be invoice and not a dollar amount.

Dealer fees vary in what they actually include. They are intended to still maintain a profit margin on a vehicle when sold even if you do haggle down the price. Typically the biggest thing that is covered in dealer fees is documentation and paper pushing. Other BS things could include any time of dealer prep (wash/wax) or whatever else they can sneak into the sale and charge you for. Bottom line, dealer fee is nothing but pure profit on your sale to help keep that dealer in business. I dont know how it is in other states, but virtually all dealers in FL charge a dealers fee. Dealer fees can be negotiated, but just be on your game and make sure that whatever $ amount you talk off the price, that is isnt moved and tagged onto somewhere else in the sale....especially if you are doing a trade in. Basically, the best advice is to go in and know exactly what you want to spend including tax, tag/title (commonly known as "out the door") and stick to your guns. I cant tell you how many times Ive gotten up and walked out in the middle of a salesman talking to me after he came back with any sort of dollar amount over what I am willing to spend and have driven to the next dealership. Use that edmunds link I posted above. You can sit there and play with numbers all day long and know exactly where you need to be BEFORE you step a foot inside a dealership and get suckered into spending more money than you wanted.
