Like I said, you have a later model so you should be fine.

And I think the fire issue was only with the early 4 cylinders wasn't it? I don't recall hearing any issues with the V6. Of course I am getting old and the memory is going, going, going, gone.

Scroungers said any car lover is welcome. Here are the details from their site:

Quote:
I made my way over there tonight to find a meeting spot for people coming from the north.
This is our route: Ky guys and anyone that is coming from south of the Ohio River will meet at UDF next to I-275
.

Cars should be gassed up and ready to leave at 3:00 from this UDF
Address: UDF #160
1135 Steffen Lane
Wilder, Kentucky 41076
859-441-5040

We will leave UDF at 3:00 and head east on I-275 and across the Ohio River. We will be taking the first Ohio exit. Kellogg Ave, Exit 72. We will go east(RIGHT) off the exit. We will pass Coney Island and River Bend before stopping to pick up the Ohio guys. The Ohio guys meeting spot is AJ's Road House. It's on the right. If you pass a Marathon Gas Station you went too far.

We should be pulling in around 3:30 at this address. Please be gassed up and ready to roll before we get there. There is a gas station across and up the street a few 100 feet.
Address: AJ'S Roadhouse
6735 Kellogg Road
Cincinnati, OH 45230

Ky guys will roll into the parking lot and this will be our first stop. We will meet up and say hello to whoever shows up before heading on down the river. The next stop will be played buy ear. If we see something cool we will stop. If we don't we will go on towards Higginsport to the ferry to Augusta, Ky. Don't eat before the trip or while you are waiting for everyone. We will stop in Augusta for some pizza.

Map Quest the address or put them in your GPS. We have had trouble before trying to get everyone on the same page. Fact is with the amount of cars that go on these runs we can't keep track of everyone. If you get a red light or if someone stops for a rest room break the cars to the front will not see you. When you turn off the cars behind you will follow you. Do your best to catch back up when you are done. We will not be breaking any speed records. If you get left behind we will not be hard to catch up to. We are not taking any side roads. Follow the river and you will see us. Cross the Ferry into Augusta and we will be there before heading back down the Ky side of the river on Rt 8. End of the cruise is in Silver Grove, Ky at the Dari Bar. You can't miss it.
Gonna start a separate thread and link it here.

So how many folks from the BBOMG trip got a bill from the Canadian ETR-407 tollroad authority? Looks like they want paid in Canadian dollars.

I mistakenly brought home $10 in canadian bills, maybe I'll just send them that.

I paid with my credit card. I'm sure they will figure it out. I did pay $33 for the $30.90 bill.

Probably the vibrations from your car threw the cameras off. Wow, $33 for about an hour's drive. Sure makes you appreciate that West Virginia Turnpike.

Just this last week. It looks like junk mail, envelope return address says "407 ETR". I almost didn't open it, but was too curious as to WTH it was.

You'll be OK if you don't pay it, just don't ever go back to Canada!

I got my bill yesterday and paid already...

Well... we added a new mate to the stable. Not a fun one but a well needed one. After 251,000 miles we have decided to replace the old Civic. The ac went out, tried to recharge it but made it worse... it needs new tires soon so hate to replace them with it on thin ice... the exhaust is falling off again and I hate sounding like a fart can car... the tranny has been slipping... the inside stinks like mildew from getting wet and having a wet dog in it... plus we were just freakin tired of driving it. We did keep it but not sure what we are going to do with it.... keep it, sell it or give it away... I think we are going to take a stab at selling it but what the hell could we get for it... $1000... $1500

We looked at a 2011 Honda Fit, 2012 Honda Civic, 2012 Focus hatch, 2011 Cruze, 2011 Golf...

My favorite was the Golf but the added cost and the reduced mileage couldn't top this:

2012 Civic EX

I know its not the Cruze like I thought I'd end up with but cost vs mileage and the freakin reputation... its hard to beat. I added the 6 year 120K warranty which will last me about 4 years but it is chalk full of gizmos and gadgets. Kris loves it. She drove it home while I stuck it out in old blue with no ac, and defrost that doest work... Unloaded the work stuff from the ole' girl and parked her in the yard. I haven't driven the new one yet. We test drove a hidious light blue one with tan interior. When I saw the black with grey interior, I didn't need to look anymore. Sunroof, alloy wheels, bluetooth, all kinds of crap the 98 didn't have.

Only planned mod is some mildly tinted windows. Just enough to keep it cool inside.

Congrats! Enjoy the new car smell.

Throw the old one on Craigslist for $1000. If it runs it will sell.

Mike

That's pretty much my plan. I feel the same way, anything that runs is worth atleast $1000.

It actually runs pretty good if you can get past how it looks and that it's got no ac. The tires and exhaust are as bad as I led on and are cheap fixes.

Congrats on the new car, J. I love getting a new car. It's fun to play with all the new toys they come with and they are so nice and clean.

We traded in my husband's 96 Accord about year ago with 260,000 miles on it. We got $800 for it which was the kbb value.
