Great looking photos Jim! BTW, the front painted license bracket really, really looks good. Think yours is the only one I've seen with that, and it looks so much better than the stock black color. The new Camaro is not very "front plate friendly" but it actually looks good on yours with that painted bracket.
Glad you liked the Converse Shoes. When mine arrive, I'll put them on, along with a fav orange Polo shirt, and post a "salute pic" to Orange Krate . You should get some Orange Hi-Tops! Everyone would know you mean business when you stepped out of Orange Krate. And for the monogram, you could put "Kaptain Kr8" (hitop mongram limited to 12 characters, so abbrev necessary) ....there's an ebay seller with that moniker and it has a nice ring to it. The Starship Enterprise had Captain Kirk, and the Starship Orange Krate could have Kaptain Krate piloting it....Funny, but when I took a friend for ride in a rental 2010 Camaro, I joked it was like entering a spaceship, and I meant that in a good way

We tried to get some decent video fly bys but the POS camera we had was pretty much worthless. Time to buy my own HD camera and do it right. Soon...very soon. Still on vacation (working at house!). I haven't even taken Orange Krate out of the barn on a power run this week! Sacreligious!

New Goodies...
I ordered myself up a new 100 Year Anniversary Chevrolet T-Shirt in ORANGE! Is there really any other color?
It is a nice design. However, I have to say that the quality is not good. The T-shirt is very thin and ultra light. Don't expect a "Beefy T" quality. It isn't up to Hanes standard or even Fruit of the Loom. The silk screeing job is spotty. I am sure the Chevy Mall guys will say...send it back. But the point is... we shouldn't have to send it back and the quality should be there for the money charged! That's it. Enough said. The upside is that I did get a free dime size "100 year anniversary pin" with the shipment. I am sticking that one away for a special occasion. It is sealed in its own box with the official holographic seal. Here are a couple of photos of what I got. The t-shirt photo isn't the one I got. I will post that up later so you can see what the real quality looked like. Chevy Mall needs to have a talk with their vendor about their silkscreening. |

Today I took the Orange Krate, wife and youngest daughter to Lake Casitas up near Ojai, California. It was about 140 mile round trip by the time the ride, picnic and sightseeing were over. On the way towards home we detoured through Ojai and looked at where I used to work in the 1980s. Then I drove Orange Krate up the notorious Highway 33 towards the Los Padres Forest and Mount Pinos Summit. We only went as far as the Friend's Ranch roadside market where you can buy citrus, nuts and candies etc. It was closed due to the late hour. My wife had her digital camera and I asked her to capture a brief video of us coming back down Highway 33. The quality isn't that good but you can get an idea of the Orange Krate motoring down that long lonesome highway. It was a great day for riding.

I always love taking little trips like that. I haven't been through the 33 in a longtime but I used to go through Lockwood Valley all the time. Great photos also. I'm going to start getting Sunday's off we should go out for a drive soon.
