Exhaust rattle on tunnel brace fix your take?

Ok so i am highly tired of hearing my exhaust hitting my tunnel brace. So first i tried washers/nuts to space it out;it still hit. Second i padded my brace with exhaust wrap; worked but looked bad and i smelled burning after a while and took it off assuming it was that well it wasnt i had wire looms close to headers melting. So i was to lazy and displeased with that so when i sent it back to livernois i had them try. It lasted a few spins hitting again. After further research i find since i have noweeds diverters i had to cut the original piping and bolt them in place which is causing the exhaust to sag at that point therefore resting my resonator on the tunnel brace. After trying bmr brace and having no more clearance as pipe size is not the issue i came up with a new idea and want some advice.

Idea: take a 1/2 inch to 3/4inch bolt weld the head of it to the resonator pointing down. Drill a whole thru center of bmr tunnel brace. Put a nut on first then slide tunnel brace over bolt and secure it with 4 original bolts, then put a nut on the bottom of new center bolt and tighten the one on top and bottom and adjust height and seperation with two nuts.

My question is not if it will work but if it will effect drone due to stiffness and is there a more efficient way to do it?

How about this new brace I picked up from American Racing Headers. This replaces both tunnel braces. It's awesome and it fits any 3 inch pipe.

Resonator bolted to tunnel brace, bolted to frame equals noise.

I like phdjent's idea.

I think your exhust is not set up right, I had the same problem with my hotkhis brace, and my performace guy loosen all the exhust bolts and pushed up on it from the headers and tighen it back down and no issues from it again... I have a 3" magnaflow comp exhust.

I think it would hit its not the size my exhaust sags if tunnel brace was not there it would fall another 1/2inch. Wat about putting a hanger on with rubber connector would that prevent noise? Or how about a rubber bushing on each side of tunnel brace ?

Problem lies at connection of diverters to resonater i have tried front to back adjustments but there is to much play in clamps where diverters connect to resonator causing sag this was a weld for factory pipe and clamp cannot provide same stability. Maybe i cut to much pipeoff?

It's rock solid. They used my convertible as the test car to design it. The verts come with two braces underneath the car that the the coupe's don't have. When they installed the new system with the 3 inch X pipe they needed to make more room. Spacers looked like crap so they created this new brace to replace both of the others. I have friends with coupes that drove my car and went right out to get this brace after feeling how stiff it was. American Racing posted the info in the convertible section of this forum. Call them up and mention that you saw it on the red jewel vert. Here's the link:

My cat and header connection does rotate when i raise lower exhaust but that ball joint conection seems impossible to tighten further than i have it. I am not saying its not possible i am just saying ive tried adjustments and braces and i may not b the best but i can tighten my clamps up at resonator and move exhaust up and down and clamps are not holding tight.

I just installed my exhaust and have the same problem, but I haven't messed with the rattle yet. I have some mineral wool insulation from a brewery build, and I was going to try lining the brace with that this weekend. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I got it from www.mcmaster.com and the part number is 9328K41. It's good for 1200 degrees so it should work.
