He is running a KB BAP. It must be the alky that allows them to tune and produce this kind of hp on a stock pump and a BAP....most cars run out of fuel in the low to mid 600 range but most cars aren't running or tuned for meth either.

Huffer is correct we do use the KB 40A BAP in all of our kits.. The alky lets us have the fueling on these big HP number cars, we still do recommend a stage 2 fuel system but the alky cars have been holding up fine as is. I would give the BAP a little more range into the high 6's for fueling. I personally run 647 to the tire with a BAP.

Thats a lot of power flowing through the High-flow cats. I'll bet money that they'll melt with that much power

We have dozens of cars making 8-900rwhp with high flow cats that have been that way for years now, a big part of keeping the cats together is tuning. Doug @ ECS |

I'm no engine expert but surely that stock bottom end won't last too long on 13 pounds of boost.

Ten years ago I would fully agree, however over the years we have had customers request us to continue to push the stock envelope more and more, fully aware of the possible consequences. since then we have produced over 70 Corvettes making over 700rwhp with a bone stock engine-SC-ARH-and alky injection on pump gas. More if you include the cammed cars where some are breaking 800rwhp, and our ever increasing list of Camaro's being added to that list weekly. We make it very clear what may come of bringing the power this high, but so far our failure is almost next to nothing, with the few that did fail not leaving the customers unhappy with the racing and mileage they got out of it. We have stood the test of time and racing abuse with our Corvettes with records like the fastest stock bottom end LS1 that now has almost 1,300 passes on the car, and has ran a best of 9.73 @ 144, still going strong. Fastest stock bottom end LS6 which has been 9.75 @ 148 for five years now and couple hundred passes, fastest stock bottom LS2 at 9.72 and I could go on. We have found the right balance of what it takes to make this kind of power on a stock bottom end while keeping it relatively reliable, and able to produce them in a production line type of assembly very quickly. What is being done to the top end on these motors? Are new intakes/heads being added? I always here stock bottom end but never here anything about the top. |
