Advice needed please....look inside
Hey, I"m having a local San Diego shop install my Pfadt sways and springs on Thursday.......and they want to charge me $500.00.
Does this sound right? This shop is not shady, and is extremely reputable, I've had work done there before, but I dunno.......$500.00 seems steep to me to install my parts. Am I off base here? |

Consider that the job is a 3-4hr job, then multiply that by their shop rate. Does that include the performance alignment?

If I can install my own so can you. Once you start doing it you will realize it doesn't take much bolts to remove em. And you can rent a spring compressor at autozone. I would help if you lived locally but seriously swap em yourself its not hard if you can do a cold air kit you cans put these in yourself.

I would definitely attempt this myself, but the problem isn't really lack of desire or mechanical know how........it's lack of space.
my driveway is at an extremely steep angle, and my garage is full of shite. Doing it on the street is out of the question also. I hear what you are saying though, I'm sure all I'd need to do it is a spring compressor, a way to jack the car up, and hand tools (which I have the stuff for that, just not the space). |

That is a fair price with a good alignment included.

500 including an alignment seems to be in the ballpark.
Be sure to have them setup your car with one of our alignment recommendations. A quality alignment really does make a huge difference in the handling capability of the car! Pfadt Alignment Recommendations |

It takes time and skill to do mechanic work and you have to pay for it. Everyone sees the install pics and thinks everything takes 10 mins to complete a task like it seems it does when you watch powerblock tv. If they said $100 then i'd be worried. If you do the job yourself, are you 100% confident that you have tightened every bolt correctly and have all the other tools that you might need if you run into a problem? Just a few things to think about especially since your suspension is responsible for keeping your car saftly on the road. Ive lowered 10 camaros so far and its not the quickest project, especially when its 100*+ outside
Good luck
