45th Anniversary Limited Allocation???

I called up my local dealer about ordering a 45th AE 2SS Coupe and he said that even though they have plenty of 2012 Camaro allocations, they haven't earned one for a 45th Package yet. Apparently it's very limited since they just started production... Does this sound right? Everything I've read has said that it wasn't supposed to be a limited production package...

If this is true, does anyone know of any dealers in/around Missouri that might have an open allocation (and are willing to sell at invoice)? The local dealer also said that since it's a "Limited Production Special Edition", demand will be high and they don't see Invoice Pricing happening...

Settlemier told me it's open allocation since that's the only way to get carbon flash. They were not going to limit it and made a stripe delete option. I think your dealer is an idiot. It's only a $1300 option on a 2ss. Just select the H45 RPO code and put in the order... at a different dealer!

That's exactly what I've been hearing! Glad I'm not totally insane. Everything the guy said sounded straight ass-backwards...

If need be, contact Becky @ Rodgers Chevy. If you need to find her she is in my friends list. I'm going thru her to get my 45th ss convert early next year. She is really helpful and she can ship your Camaro to any dealership.

I actually REALLY want to order thru Becky. The main obstacle is that I'm trading in my 2011 for the 2012 AE. I don't see how I'd be able to get that beast up to her to trade it...

I called around to some other dealers. Most of them have no idea what I'm talking about, but another local one said that they knew about the 45th allocation and have one opening up on August 6th...

I also emailed Becky so hopefully she'll have good news.

Your first mistake was talking to a dealer in the Waynesville/St. Robert area. I was stationed at FLW many years ago and ended up buying a truck from Rolla only because I couldn't get up to Jefferson City or St. Louis to buy. I learned a long time ago to never buy a car in a Military town. When I get back from this deployment in a little over a month, I'm buying from a dealer in Dallas or San Antonio.

Surprisingly, it was the Rolla and Springfield dealerships that were talking all this 45th allocation nonsense. Lowe Chevy in Waynesville is the only one around here who confirmed that I can place a Camaro order with their allocation next week. They even agreed to (or rather, the saleperson assured me the sales manager would let him) sell the car at invoice. The downside is they will only give $32k for my 2011 as a trade-in and although unrelated to this, their service department in particular treats any military personnel like they don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. It's like pulling teeth to get any type of warranty work approved...

I just got off the phone with Becky just a few minutes ago after my original order with another dealer went south on a 2LT/45th.

I spent maybe 15 minutes total on the phone with her and she had everything basically ready to go. What an awesome woman.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you go above, beyond, and way out your way to deal with Becky, you will be satisfied, I know I am.

I ordered my 2012 2SS ELCO Chevy off Manchester in StL. I have been very happy so far and have had to do almost all my correspondence electronically from Baghdad. If you would like my salesman's name PM me.

What is with dealerships telling me "I doubt we'll be able to do invoice pricing on a 45th because it's a special edition and they're just coming out"?

Regardless of what edition it is, I'm ordering the damn car, not buying it off the lot! The holdback, over $1100 on a 2SS Coupe 45th, is like free money in their pockets. There is no work/advertising to sell it, it's sold already. AND, my trade-in will bring in AT LEAST a couple thousand extra, if not more...

I have been talking with Becky though and I'm supposed to call her for some details today. Becky, please, Please, PLEASE give me a great deal so I can:

1. Actually say something nice about a dealer/salesperson.

2. Take the deal into the local dealerships and rub it in their collective faces.

and...

3. Finally order the 45th Anniversary Edition 2SS Coupe. The car that made me fall in love with the 5th Gen. Camaro all over again.
