Has anyone wished they had more than the two sockets. I had one of those lighter adapters that added more sockets, but didn't like the cord hanging out. Is there a way to mod a 3rd socket into the existing light socket? I was thinking if it was wired off of the exisiting one it would work. Any thoughts?

you could cut a hole in the dash somewhere and install one....

I used a wire splice to wire up an extra connector for my radar detector so I could hang it from my mirror

If you want to go to the trouble of hard-wiring a 3rd socket, how about just hard-wiring one of your accessories that uses the socket instead?

I bought a socket at radio shack and wired it to one of the existing ones under the center console in order to plug in my garmin without exposing the wires. So I guess technically I have 3

it works fine.
