My Z28

Hey guys:

Couple of questions. I have a 1987 z28. I'm third owner and it's never been in snow or not been garaged. Paint is near perfect and the engine looks new. Has 70000 miles and runs very good. Has t tops. The second owner, a friend of the family, found the original sticker yesterday and it was over $17000, which amazed me. No rust whatsoever.

Problems: 1) needs new radio 2) rubber around t tops needs replaced 3) light grey interior is faded 4) steering wheel leather needs redone 5) needs a new headliner.

I thought about changing the carpet because of the fading.

I have about $4700 in it. Should I do the work, which probably would be another $1500 and sell it or sell it now as is?

What do you think it is worth - it is dark charcoal grey. Beautiful striping along bottom. Has 305.

Any answers would be appreciated.

Mike

Hmm, If I had the money, I'd buy it as-is. Interior work (except for the carpet maybe) shouldn't be that much.

He told me that was the best damn answer he ever heard.

you will find more intrest in it at a cheaper price even with them knowing it needs a little work, it is expected with these older cars and most new owners will enjoy doing some work themselves to make it there own. the new owner might not htink it needs new carpet or interior right away and could do it as there budget allows. this is what i have found selling all my cars, trucks and boats over the years, but it is my opinion
