The user interface is easier to use and honestly just looks more professional for that matter as well. Don't let that Virtual VE crap get you in a tussy either. Most pro shops honestly disable the VE table completly in LS3 tunes anyhow. Check out Hp Tuners Forum for more on this...
Agree on the Turn off VE thing but you lose some crispness in some throttle transions ... Yes I use HPT and Own over 400 credits ... I have used EFI live and like it but like anything else use what your comfortable with

both are very good programs.

Both have a learning curve, but are quality programs.

for each car you license with HPT, Its about $100 unless you pay upfront for unlimited credits for a specific year and make. Then its alot more.

For the last nine years, Ive only used HP tuners.

EFILive is the way to go if you are going the forced induction route.

If you aren't aware We offer a 2.5 bar custom operating system with a ton of added features over the stock operating system so I'd say we have a slight advantage there

I've been using HP tuners for over a year. Easy for beginners.

I've used EFI since V1 was all they had. I love the layout, and I have a demo of HP, but I prefer the layout of EFI. Also custom operating systems are free with EFI, I think they used to cost to update to with HP. They'll both get the job done but I prefer EFILive.

I highly recommend Greg Banish's Tuning Class! He covers both HPTuners and EFILive.

Check this out. 330 pages on how to tune with case studies for both HPT and EFILive. By far the most comprehensive tuning book for GM EFI on the market.

http://www.masportspeedshop.com/servlet/the-150/master-efi-tuner-tuning/Detail

Something else to consider is EFILive has the Virtual VE Table that allows you to adjust the VE table for the later model ECM's. No need to disable them.

Nope, SD or maf, 1 bar, 1.3 bar, 2 bar, 2.5 bar or anywhere in between. Thats the great thing about custom operating systems for E38's, you CUSTOMIZE it the way you want

I'm not sure if HP Tuners has the ability to do a "stealth tune" by keeping the stock CVNs after it's been tuned, but certain versions of EFI Live can. This is an important consideration if you're trying to keep your warranty intact.
