I bet it pics up 20rwhp with just a tune and maybe a cold air intake. Iam would not worry about guys Iam sure gm left pletty of room for improvment with the factory tune, my 05 gto pick up a full second in the quarter with just a tune, mostly due to the removal of the torque managment. So lets get one that has been tuned and then make our judgment

A dyno can be made to say whatever you'd want it to.

You want 50 hp? we give you 50 hp.

Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

To bad that camaro already had over 1000 miles on it when it was dynoed so with both the GXP and camaro around the same mileage .. the GXP put up the better numbers on the same dyno ..
Stock Baseline 371 RWHP / 382 RWTQ

As someone else stated the dyno is a tuning tool, take it to the track to see what kind of times it runs and don't worry about dyno numbers. The GXP was driven extremely hard since day 1, not sure about the Camaro and maybe the hard break-in produced better power.

I think the Camaro is right where it should have been power wise.

Hmm, I was expecting Higher number's then these. Looks Like I'm going to have to go with you 5th. This car will definitely need serious amount of mods for it to be where I'd Like it to be. A cam, Heads, Nice tune and the obvious bolt on's Might get it to 470's.
But then Again it all depends on the car, I had 3 of the same car's dyno 2 weeks ago. one pulled 385,395,and mine pulled 411. Every car is Built differently, Just can't wait to get this bad boy next month and see how it compares.

One dyno and everybody is in a tissy fit.. Give it some time, some more tests, we'll get a good average..Every engine (LS#'s) will be a little different after the initial break in period.

What should it have been then? Standard assumed losses are 15%, some are more some are less but 15% is the accepted norm. 426 hp - 15% = 362 hp. What is the problem?

For the manual these days I would say 12% is what you should average at .. anything else is just making excuses for low results ..

If you use 15%, that means stock, my 2001 LS1 was making 360HP at the crank and my 04 Cobra w/ just a K&N FIPK was making 470 HP at the crank ... Also, the stock G8 GXP that they tested was making 436hp at the crank ..

12 % loss max is more like it for a manual. I would accept 15% loss for the automatic ..
