1st post ... with a few questions

Lifetime Ford man becoming more interested in this Camaro the more I read about it. I've driven & owned my fair share of GM product over the years, but for daily drivers I'm currently on my 3rd V6 / 5-Spd Mustang since 1994.

A few Camaro q's that I can't seem to find answers to ...

True Duals on both V6 & V8 ?? I've read this is true in a couple of places but I'd really like to see undercarrage pics (V6 & V8) of which I can't seem to find. Any good undercarrage pics out there ??

Is there LUMBAR support in (at least) the driver's seat ??

What is the GROUND CLEARANCE supposed to be ... V6 / V8 ??

What is the official PASSENGER VOLUME cu. ft. ??

Just trying to make comparisons to my current 2004 Mustang, 2010 Mustang, and (dare I say Hyundai) Genesis Coupe that I've been researching lately.

Thanks,

Doug

Welcome to the site!

Although I haven't seen passenger volume cu. ft. figures, you can find figures for headroom, shoulder and legs in
our Camaro WIKI --> http://www.camaro5.com/forums/wiki.p...lt:CAMARO+WIKI

Also, check out this thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...=undercarriage

Is there LUMBAR support in (at least) the driver's seat ??

Thank you all for your quick replies and warm welcome.

True duals with a x pipe
... when was the last time a Camaro/Firebird had true duals ... I'm guessing 1974 !!

Those basic interior dim's I've already seen listed at a few sources including the "January 2009 V.5 specs", but for some reason the total interior "passenger volume" I.E. 2010 Mustang = 83.3 cu ft / 2010 Genesis = 88.0 cu ft ... I can't find comparitive data for the Camaro. Also "Front & Rear Hiproom" are other #'s that are elusive !!

Doug

i love that all the cars have duals, but they still sound a little too restricted so i think am going to go aftermarket go to Magnaflow or something

One more question I forgot to ask ...

Will 17" wheels fit over the V6 brakes ??
A WINTER snow tire wheel package is mandatory for my car and 17's are much more reasonably priced. I've seen other rotors in the 12.64" range fitting inside 17's, so I'm hoping this be the case with Chevy too !!

Libery1 ... thanks for that undercarrage pic and the link to that other thread. Kind of hard to see real well in any of those pics ... really need to get one up on a lift to see it all. There will be better pics soon ... before we know it I suppose.

Tran ... thanks for the great link to more technical data that I had not seen before !!

I keep thinking of more ...

V6 is tuned to run on regular 87 Octane ... but will the engine computer adjust the tune if better fuel like Premium is used ??

Both Genesis Coupe engines do this and I thought it was a great feature. Since the LLT engine is slightly more advanced than Hyundai's engines, I was hoping maybe it did it too, but don't see this in writing anywhere !!

Thanks Again,

Doug

it will adjust the tune to allow more timing advance and fuel injection advance if you run premium. but thats if you run premium all the time. if you run regular all the time, then fill up once on premium, it wont really do much to change the tune.

nearly every EFI motor will do this. now if you tune for premium then you can get better results over just running premium fuel and letting the computer work itself.

I though the Camaro is a DI engine.
